Looked quite a tricky group for England on paper. The defending champions, the team that knocked the defending champions out of the last World Cup and Ukraine.

That’s them through it after a game and a half. They’re an absolute machine under Southgate.

Bukayo Saka is unbelievably good.

Unfortunately

The English have a great advantage due to the immense funding their elite academies receive every year.

However 97% of graduates in EPL academies never actually get a first team opportunity.

Our players going through our systems will always be at a disadvantage due to the difference in facilities and coaching.

It’s so simple too. They get it wide and cross it, cut it back to Kane/Saka/Sterling (when he plays).

They do it against everyone yet 95% of teams and their coaches have absolutely no idea how to combat it.

Is that not a contradiction?

A few seasons playing against the Northern Premier League's finest and they'll be World Champions.

Sorry was intentional. Put a “however” in. 😂

Just pointing out that even though there is great success in improving young players with natural talent it had been measured that a very low percentage of players that go through any academy system that actually make it as an elite professional.

Even our top clubs know they have “shirt fillers” in their different age groups as they are anticipating only a very small number make it.

As a counter argument St Mirren benefited from Lewis Morgan and Kenny McLean being jettisoned by Rangers both have developed and become full internationals.
