Livi v Ross County

Recommended Posts

Tough game this, County only lost to Motherwell after getting a red card (sounds familiar to us), and a deflected goal to Sevco, scudded Killie and Utd and drew with Hibs, but we're at home and they've not got a great record playing us in Livingston.

To make matters worse Collum is officiating and Beaton is on VARThe saying 'Harbinger of doom' - meaning and origin., so how many players will we lose in this game.

This is a game where I think every County fan would take a point if offered it now. Our record at Livi is very poor. Our lineup kind of picks itself right now. The shape is the only thing that changes.

                                      Laidlaw

                       Randall Watson Iacovitti

G. Edwards           Kenneh    Loturi        Harmon

                                      Dhanda

                       Brophy                 White

Head says 2-0 Livi, Heart says 1-0 County.

The draw against Dundee United was good for stopping the losing run, hopefully the time off has helped in getting spirits back up and Martindale working a few things out. Still a good chance of top 6 and Europe but we really need to win this if we want to make it.

George

Devlin  -  de Lucas  -  Boyes  -  Penrice

Pittman  -  Holt  -  Stephen Kelly

Bradley  -  Anderson  -  Nouble

As usual, hard to predict what Martindale will do exactly. The main reason the 4-2-3-1 first half against Dun Utd gave us that 70% possession was having the two holders in centre mid. Shinnie and Holt were Pirlo and Gattuso. Shinnie playmaking from deep with Holt more there as defensive insurance alongside him. Martindale might want Stephen Kelly back in the side, though. He could just swap Stephen Kelly directly into Shinnie's role from the Utd match, so as a deep playmaker. More likely, though, if Stephen Kelly plays then it'll change to a 4-3-3 with Pittman pulled back into centre mid alongside Stephen Kelly, that sees both playing as an 8 with a central holder between them. The 4-3-3 gives us less control in possession but possibly a greater attacking edge, such as in the 3-0 Kilmarnock match.

De Lucas, judging on a single appearance, might be less of a rock than Obileye but with increased mobility. That suits this match as his direct opponent will probably be Brophy who can be dangerous pulling slightly wider into the inside left channel.

Regardless of what formation we play, make no mistake this will be a toughie.Probably just about our last chance as far as top 6 aspirations are concerned for us imo.Would love to get a two goal cushion here as I think that's what's going to be needed.Last home game for a while, got to make it count..

We get nothing out of these matches against Livi so anything is a bonus imo

The performance up in Dingwall last time was decent but two break away goals/defensive errors killed us.

For County tomorrow the performance means nothing, we want to take a point (or three) back up the A9 with us.

For Livi, looks likely we won't have Fitzwater or Obiley in defence. Will need to keep Big shagger White & Lone Wolf Brophy at bay.I genuinely can't call this but possibly home advantage may just tip it our way.Only if our offence has their shooting boots on.Looking forward to it.Safe journey down to our County friends. 👍.

More "safe journey home afterwards".

Looking at the BBC; the weather isn't looking too good for the A9 after 6pm. Take it easy guys.

County won the last time they came to Livi, back in October, and with a weaker side than you have now.

100% behind that team , feeling decent about us recently but our form against Livingston is very poor, fingers crossed for at least a draw as we could really do with distancing ourselves from killie and utd

That really sums it up so far, from a sclaffed clearance County had a fast counter on but Livi shut down all potential lines of attack fast and it ended up with a shitey shot off target.
