Resurgent Hamilton v Regressing Ayr

Hamilton were much better than this in the 3-2 game, are they not meant to be new and improved?

Not really. A couple of wins over Billy Dodds shite ICT and Imrie bending over for us when he brought Morton here was papering over the cracks. We are still very much the drizzling shits.

McGinn's abomination the worst 45 from any Accies player this season. Hs head's dropped too.

Although, tbf, he fits in perfectly with literally everyone else out there - embarrassing. Hopefully folk can stop pretending that the back 5 is in any way conducive to us playing well; same problems every single time with it.

It doesn't matter the league we play in, we are eternally cursed to look like the worst team in it. Genuinely only Queen of the South have been definitely worse than us in about eight years of football.

If you're being critical then you'd prefer Ayr to have been properly clinical as we won that far more comfortably than the 0-2 suggests, but I'm pleased the team put in a good performance and got the job done.

A very comfortable 2-0 win. Don't think Albinson will have many easier days in his career, Hamilton looked completely toothless and apathetic.

The 4-3-3 seemed to work today, Murdoch in the middle gave so many more options for passes, and the tendency to thump the ball long was nowhere near as prevalent as it has been. We actually played some nice wee interchanges on the flanks, McAllister got himself further forward than I've seen him do previously.

Ashford had a good game,  took his goal well and worked hard.  O'Connor did well as well, took his man on but needs to back himself more and fire off shots instead of looking for the pass, that happened a couple times in the second half but his overall contribution was pretty positive.

All in all, far better than what we saw against Falkirk, but if we are being honest it was against a poor Hamilton team.  The overall shape and movement was better and we gave the long ball artillery a rest for once. Definitely should have been more clinical but a positive step after Monday's debacle.

Rankin got what he deserved playing a weakened team against a wounded animal after Monday.

Worst home performance of the season and a true reflection of the score would easily have been a 4-6 goal win for Ayr.

I don't get the Accies thinking here. Today was far more important than next week and a full strength team should have played instead of haddies like Winter and Mimmnaugh to give them game time.

Easiest win for Ayr all season and a dreadful way to go into next week.
