County have been awful, like really surprisingly bad.

Really shouldn't be tbh, we have been shite all season. Crap hoofball with sod all quality more often than not with Yan Dhanda standing there with the ability to pick a pass but we go aimless route one.

HT 1-0
Yeah we’ve played well, been much the better side and really should be 2 or 3 ahead. Goal was the corner headed home by Gallagher routine again, lovely.
Along with that we’ve had two or three clear cut chances, along with several half chances, but we’ve been very wasteful.
County have been awful, like really surprisingly bad. Number 10 has had a few moments of quality but Murray and White upfront are two similar cloggers - thus far.
For us Flynn been good, as has Small at left back. Strain outstanding as usual, he’s our POTY nap.
Need that second goal or I fear letting County back into this.

Yep, fair assessment. First 25 in particular, our work rate out of possession was ridiculous - saw a couple of posts about County defenders lumping it forward, but Main, Watt and O’Hara’s pressing barely gave them an alternative.

Need to put the game to bed though - seen this movie before!

A big difference between the two teams (among with many others) is how productive St Mirren's wing-backs are. It's even more pronounced when each side are using the same formation.

It’s odd, because he absolutely bossed the 3-2 game earlier in the season, which really flattered St Mirren.    Not sure why so many happy clappers saw Simon Murray as being such a good signing.  I think it’s obvious he’s not up to the standard.

When they had an alternative they still lumped it.

Callachan on, Dhanda off.

jesus christ

Ditching the 3 at the back at the slightest sign of hoofball failure.  Our manager is a fraud.

eta; oh and no left back at all.  Brutal.

It's still a back 3... ish. In the lop-sided way that it was pre-World Cup. Randall playing a hybrid position on the right with Owura in front of him. Gwion has the left to himself. Owura on the right is giving the team a much-needed injection. Dhanda should still be on the pitch though.

We take off Dhanda...and start passing it?

Is there something glaringly obvious I am missing here?

Malky doesn’t trust him, I think it’s fair to say.    I go back to the 3-2 game.  He strolled that game, and County were light years ahead of St Mirren.  Everything went through him.

St Mirren should have had the game dead and buried in the first half, then when Loturi wanted half an hour against three markers in the lead up to the double-save and stramash. I want Loturi to succeed but he looks out of his depth at times.  Moments before that Gwion had a throw in which went to a St Mirren player and Watson had to bail them out, but that was Loturi standing on his heels and waiting for the ball to come to him.

Baldwin's HT sub: was that to make an example of him (again) for being bullied at the goal?

FT 1-0

Superb. Much deserved win. How we only won 1-0 I have no idea but it’s three points all the same. Second half we’ve hit the post and a goalmouth stramash somehow ended up not going in. Main played well but if he was a goal scorer we’d have won that about 4-0.
County did have their moments second half. They must have had about eight corners, including three in a row at one point. Never seriously threatened though. The incident that led to their red card was probably their best chance. Late dive in on Carson, VAR, red, game over.

This was a must win game for top six and we’ve done it. Four point cushion over the Dons now, tougher tests to come but we are in a great position.

MOTM Strain. Sign him up on a longer deal please. Special mention to Flyniesta too, I think that was his first league start of the season. Him and Kiltie strolled it, didn’t miss Gogic or Baccus at all.

Night & day from wednesday when we barely pressed a single Motherwell player. Can well imagine Robinson wasn't best impressed by that. Good result.

We really need to score more goals though. 3-0 wouldn't have flattered us at all, but we were clinging on at points because we couldn't get that second we absolutely deserved. Watt, Offord and Main all should have scored today.
