Fairytale Killers v Alloa

Apologies if humour is being deployed here but is it not the case that Alloa's pitch is 3 yards wider than Falkirk's?

It is but we often hear about Alloa's wee pitch, despite it being one of the bigger parks. Probably a legacy of the two occasions in the last decade when the pitch was reduced for short spells.

We certainly did well in the two recent games against Falkirk and might well have done better than a defeat and a draw. In between those was a real shocker of an away result at Airdrie. We'll need to much better than that to have a chance of getting anything at Falkirk.

I think there's also an element of people bizarrely assuming there's a direct relationship between pitch and club size.

In terms of the pitch. Its a bit of an illusion.

Alloa's pitch may be slightly larger but its proximity to the perimeter of the terrace/stands makes it feel tighter. The pitch at TFS has the opposite effect. The stands are set quite for from the pitch and the open space makes the pitch feel very large.

Falkirk's pitch is slightly larger than ours. There's only about a 1% difference. Ours is wider and shorter and theirs is longer and narrower. Pretty negligible in the scheme of things.

Both are massive when compared to somewhere like Tynecastle - vividly remember Robbie Neilson complaining about our tight park and it's at points like this you lose any interest in what managers have to say.

Mines is definitely wide and short.

There's a preview of the game on this week's episode of our podcast if you fancy a listen (recorded before the Darvel game so you can enjoy as I confidently predict them papping Falkirk out the cup!).

Big thanks to @RC55 FFC for jumping on in the second half to help preview Saturday.

Back to our normal formation and we'll cause Alloa a lot more problems than the last game. 3-1 the Bairns.

Agree, I would think this team picks itself tomorrow, unless we have any unknown injures.

Mcginn was limping coming off on Monday and I saw during the game he had tape on him hamstring. Hope he is fit.
