Goodwin's last team vs Goodwin's last but one team

Recommended Posts

it never rains but it pours!!!

Thought it was a sending off, don't think McCrorie intentionally hit him but it doesn't look good when slowed down

Thought Aberdeen played well until they lost the goal and then struggled until Duk got the pen (looked a dive where I was sitting)

St Mirren looked decent passing the ball around to take advantage of the extra men. Some goals from Main a player who gives defenders nightmares although not very prolific (apart from today lol).

Anyway if Aberdeen play like that first half then we should recover, big game on Saturday for us.

Wasn’t a dive.

Whoever it was admitted he tripped him according to Robinson.

St. Mirren "rejects" Dougie Bell, Billy Stark, Peter Weir and Frank McDougall were a huge part of Miller being able to lift so many trophies in the 80s.

All these players were signed from St Mirren. Main and Gallagher joined St Mirren after Aberdeen because their performances were not good enough, so a pretty strange comparison to make.

It looks worse slowed down but that removes the fact that he’s running full pelt at the time. If you’re running at full speed and someone gets in your way to block you then you’re naturally going to raise your arms to protect yourself. It’s a split second reaction from McCrorie who is in control of the ball and trying to avoid a cynical foul, so it’s clearly a very harsh red card.

Unfortunately that was clearly lost when the ref watched it at 0.25 speed on the monitor.

Mate, Dougie Bell was a St Mirren reject , played twice under Fergie , and that was it , released at the end of 78/79 . Big Stark gave us 8 seasons  , he had gone stale with us. Frank never really recovered from his broken leg , he wasn't the same player for us after that , having said that Fergie got a tune out of him for a short time !

He raised his arm to protect himself… then for whatever reason, decided to raise it another 20cm and hit Dunne in the face.

I get that you want to stand up for your player, but like Fraser for us giving away the penalty, footballers sometimes do inexplicable things.

Absolutely.

Ethan at RP is a great example, we might not agree with it but it is hardly a new interpretation of the rule.

Based on what they showed on Sportscene it looked as though the referee was watching it at full speed, certainly not slowed down.

It's a shit sending off that only happens with var, as I've said, if you are a fan and it's given against you, you'd argue it. Doesn't make it right or wrong.

It just shows that with Var we are no better off because we still find ourselves looking at decisions and still aren't sure if they are correct.

Goldson clearly handles the ball against hearts tonight but no pen, compare to the one given at Ibrox on Saturday.

Small looks a player and a half, and Watt contributed too. All in all, a very good night - but until the well worked cross and Main bullet header, boy, how shite was our final ball, and yet more aimless crosses into the keeper’s hands. From our box to theirs, everything was fine against the ten men, but when we got near their box, turned to shite. Never mind though, all’s well that ends well. If Baccus wallops an elbow into someone’s chops, guaranteed red card, so that was a definite red too. Might not be able to sleep tonight though, still have ‘Booooo! Booooo! Booooo!’ ringing in my ears in a vaguely Aberdonian accent.
