So if he could easily bag another Championship gig why has he not got any of the West Brom, Luton, QPR, Norwich, Cardiff or Blackpool jobs?

It’s a good point and my comment was no more than guesswork

Do we know if he was in the running for any of those jobs?

Just can’t see him coming to Scotland

If you look at his overall managerial record it's actually pretty decent. He had a 40% win ratio at Middlesbrough. Won more games than he lost.

He was in tge running for the Portsmouth job if i remember but then said he didn't want to drop into League one.

I suspect his name cropped up on a few of those clubs shortlists.

Wilder would be a great appointment, but I'd be astonished if he rocked up anywhere other than the OF in Scotland. He'd want a right big wage and failure at a non-OF Scottish club would kill his career down south, which would be madness as he'll pop back up with a decent job in the EFL soon enough.

Hard to see what's in it for him, really.

Agree.

He has enough credit to get a decent job down there.

Roy Aitken in the unique position of winning a trophy for us but not being regarded a success

f**k, that got ugly

Aitken, Aitken, give us a wave was classic. Quickly followed by shoot the bear.

To give Roy his due, he has never spoken badly about his time at Aberdeen, to my knowledge

I know he  nearly got us relagted, but I always counted him a success because he won us a trophy.

Opinions, eh?
