If we are going for an 'obvious' candidate who we could potentially appoint quickly, I think Danny Cowley is a pretty good bet. He was approached and interviewed for the job before Glass was appointed, and he is recently out of work with his stock lower than it was previously. 

Chris Wilder is an excellent manager, but is out of reach for us and just not a realistic suggestion - he will get another Championship job soon enough and will rightly be hanging on for that.

Realistically Aberdeen have the best chance of glory in the cups. 

So it makes sense that they go for the manager with one of the best cup records in recent years. 

It would be foolish not to take Callum Davidson.
