Yet another meeting this season. Will Dundee be able to stop the unbeatable juggernaut that is Raith Rovers in the Challenge Cup?

Yes! The diddy double is on!

Obviously this will be in front of the cameras so both teams can showcase a delectable feast of fine fetal football to the nation.

2-1.

The real question is, can Raith finally break their streak of futility at Dens Park?

We're officially at the point of thinking "well we'd be as well winning it now," for what it's worth. I don't want to say this is the real final because it's not, but considering the match-up - Raith's mighty 13-game winning streak in the Challenge Cup over 4 seasons, and Dundee's fate to be dragged, kicking and screaming, to holding aloft the Diddy DoubleTM by season's end - it's fair to say the winner is the favourite in the final.

The way our injury situation is going, we'll be lucky to field a team come two weeks' time, and most of them will be strikers and wingers.

5-4 Dundee.

What’s a striker? Asking for a friend.

We do tend to win cup games at Dens though.

Yeah, we’ve not won in our last 13 league games at Dens but strangely have won 5 of our last 6 there in cup/play off matches.

Can't dispute that view, the league placings don't lie. Equally easy to spot the weakest side! 🫤

Is he not doing too well this season then?

I refer you to the League 1 (ie third tier) table ... we've so far achieved a truly magnificent 8th place on merit with four part-time clubs above us, and having conceded 37 goals in 22 games in the process.  Our blushes are currently only being saved by very poor Clyde and Peterhead squads somehow conspiring to be worse than us.

The centre of our defence is as soft as ... well, the softest of extremely soft things really.  Marvin Bartley arrives, takes one look at the squad and immediately signs a centre back (admittedly a young one) and a keeper ... hopefully more of the same to follow.

Still, it could be worse ... at least we don't have to play Darvel ... yet ...
