Also realising you've gone from being one of the youngest in your workplace to one of the oldest and you can't be bothered with the younger peoples chat but realising you were the same wee d*ck at the same age.

I realised when I retired that I had turned into that auld c**t that I use to talk about when I first started working.

On a similar note, I used to think that if someone wasn't alive when ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest then they were too young to be at work.

Started my new job in May 2021, mid one of those lockdowns. 100% WFH, all teams meetings without camera and never knew details of lots of folk. My name on reports has always appeared as full name with middle name, that how someone set it up.

January 2022 was first days in office and meeting folk. Talking to someone towards end of day feeling ok and getting on well. Someone asked did I know and used my middle name and surname. Established he knew my son and yes it was this person. Asked how he knew my son and the answer was 'he was in the year above me at school'........went home had a gin and felt incredibly old.
