AuAl
Can't see a thread so here goes. The first of two trips to Cove in the space of 6 days. Don't really know what to expect for us, other than we will probably make a couple of changes to get players game time. Cove seemed to be really toiling until they managed to salvage a draw against Raith on Saturday, and with it being a cup tie and all, I can't really call it. We've been relatively poor recently and will arrive in Aberdeen some what out of sorts by comparison to our first ever game at Balmoral in August. A 2-1 victory. I'll be there. Looking forward to the social club, Akinyemi back amongst the scorers, and hopefully progress to the next round where we can get a favourable tie. Prediction 1-1 at full time with an extra time winner for Ayr. Cove 1-2 Ayr. Edited January 16 by AuAl
Dons_1988
I’m attending this game. Looking forward to it.
.buzzy01
Any pay for view details available from Cove yet?
Hursty
Getting the train up to this - first visit to Cove so looking for advice - is best bet a few pints near Aberdeen train station then a taxi out to the ground?

Certainly nothing in the industrial park, where the ground is located, aside from the social club at the ground and a Burger King. The social club is fine BTW.

Aye probably. Depends what time you're getting up there. Was pleasantly surprised at the social club at the ground last time round, decent amount of space, TV's and does the job. But there is absolutely nothing nearby other than that. Edited January 18 by AuAl
callum-ayr
I would go as close to usual starting 11 as possible, but with question marks over Kirk and Murdoch, I wouldn't risk them. Would like to see Bryden given a punt from the start. Going for a steady 1-0 win to see us through: Albinson Houston McCallister McGinty Reading Mullin* Dempsey Smith JML Bryden Dipo Subs: McAdams, Ecrepont, Watret, Bilham, Hewitt, Tomlinson, Bangala, Ashford, McKenzie

UpInTheAyr
Yeah would rest Kirk, McAllister has been decent enough at CB and now Houston is back. With Murdoch out will be interesting to see if Bangala gets any minutes. Should give an indication how his Ayr career is likely to go. And plenty of support for Dipo, don't need him to run himself into the ground for a cup game
rb123!
@Finlay21 asking on another forum about the pitch as there's possibly going to be a pitch inspection tomorrow, we'll see what comes of that if anything... Midweek trip to Cove for a Scottish Cup match is not appealing in the slightest.
Ayr23
It’s to be above freezing pretty much all the way from now until kick off so hopefully it can thaw enough
Hursty
Jeezo, got the non refundable train tickets already booked. Assumed it would be fine based on forecast
No_Problemo
Can’t believe we allowed Hewitt to play for Peterhead in the cup! McKenzie is miles in front of Bryden, so I have no idea why we would start Bryden over him tbh.

A group of us getting 1045 to Haymarket from Queens Street then switching to Aberdeen train to get in at 1350 We're planning to get a taxi to ground If game is postponed enroute we're just going to get off and try somewhere else, possibly Arbroath vs Motherwell

Tickets are train specific and non refundable so if it ends up being off will probably just do the day out anyway but with a pub in Aberdeen for soccer Saturday replacing the Ayr game part of it - ticket refund would pay for a few pints at least Edit - same re Taxi to ground, then was thinking of a couple in Social Club post match (if it's open after games?) AyrAtlanta
In the same boat with regards to non-refundable train tickets. Would just go to Arbroath instead but not sure there’s enough to do afterwards until the return train gets there. Other option is dundee Utd v stirling uni or just go to Aberdeen instead.
