SPFL 3 on the way

Recommended Posts

Would be absolutely shite.

It would destroy the Lowland League. Would they basically change to having a play-off for the East of Scotland, West of Scotland and Highland League to see which team got promoted?

Opening up the SPFL to B teams should absolutely be opposed. We deserve better than to see historic clubs that have been part of their community for 100 years and more treated as fodder for the old firm and a couple of other B teams, consisting largely of a few good players and the rest of the squad making up the numbers. Kids who won't make it with their big team, but who could be really important players at lower league clubs.

Interesting that Ainslie Park had a better award than The Rock. Perhaps they get bonus points for a 4G pitch

A bit like hotel ratings back in the day....a swimming pool and/or a function suite could ensure four stars, never mind that the bedrooms had hot and cold cockroaches.

I’m sure Tam once told me about all the cockroaches at Spartans.

I’ve suddenly developed a new found fondness for Darvel.

Part of the problem is some directors involved in the LL will be closet (or open) Old Firm fans and will instantly salivate at any plan involving Rangers and Celtic, which will influence any vote. And some of the clubs have barely any supporters to keep the directors in check.

So — if you support a club who has a vote at any point — make sure your chairman is acutely aware this idea needs tied up in a bag and thrown in the nearest river. If we have to make some noise every year to stop this pish then that’s what we have to do.

Ainslie Park doesn't have a licence, Spartans do.

As others have pointed out many times, the ground is only one element in getting a licence.

Not just LL Directors but SPFL ones also. It wasn't that long ago that we had a Director that leaned towards the blue half of Glasgow before coming onto our board.

Tam’ll know that already though. Just the same, The Rock has been downgraded to Entry for 2022 so I wonder why? So Dumbarton’s licence overall is just Entry now.

“THESE WEE TEAMS ARE HAUDIN US BACK,” said a moron who goes to 1 Rangers game every 3 seasons.

No doubt lives fucking no where near Glasgow.

Surely the Old Firms own rigged voting system stops this idea dead in its tracks every time. They’ve failed to convince the bottom two tiers in the past despite bribes and promises there was very little interest. I’m not really sure what they can offer the Championship clubs as they’re not throwing around the cash that much and their B team support has been shown to be in the 10s rather than the 100s derby games aside. What can they offer the Premiership clubs that aren’t interested in B teams? It only takes two clubs to block it even if it gets through the other 3 divisions. This’ll keep rearing it’s head but like 2012 the fans and the clubs can block it no matter what the SFA, SPFL and other parties want.

Kennedy is also a total balloon. "Community clubs who invest in youth development and infrastructure"? You mean clubs who invest huge amounts in the first team squad by bring in players from multiple levels above to skoosh leagues and still don't get promoted, surely?

Doesn't mean he's wrong about SPFL3 mind.
