One chance amounts to domination 1st halve ?

I never said that. You, however, said "Dundee done absolutely nothing". I was merely pointing out your faux pas.

Thought it was the correct set up with what we had pre match but with hindsight it was the wrong formation for the players we had available.

If Robinson & Williamson were available (allowing McGhee to go to CH, Cammy to LB and French to RB) it'd have made a huge difference.

We just desperately need a new Robinson.

Better point for us than Dundee with  all the uncertainty surrounding the club. With reports  of some shady mob wanting to takeover from an owner who wants to sell up,little financial input, hemorrhaging money  think the players did well tonight against the fav,s for the league with a budget we could only dream off( mind you we,d make c**t of that)

We,re a club in turmoil with a squad that lacks depth and quality so happy with the point

Football fans not known for their accuracy, but the Dundee players, bench and fans all howling for offside for our goal is looking pretty silly now. There are at least two, maybe even three players playing him onside as Dick fires it back across the goal.

Would have taken a point before the game and in all honesty felt we were fortunate to come away with a point. That 2nd half was a tough watch at times particularly after a decent 1st half performance. Nice to see a bit of life in the San Starko, night time games are the dugs.

You can bemoan your centre forward options, and watching Rudden last night I can see the frustration with him when he was more concerned with running into defenders to try to buy non-existent fouls than competing for the ball and therefore had no impact on the game.

Ultimately though he's a player who had scored 3 goals in his previous 4 appearances, has hit double figures for Championship clubs twice before and every other club in the division would bite your hand off to have him in their squad, while he would start for the vast majority. Some clubs might have one better individual, but Partick are the only team with more attacking depth than Dundee and the idea that having to play Zak Rudden up front is an insurmountable obstacle to competing for the Championship title doesn't really stand up to scrutiny. Put him in the Raith team in place of Gullan and they'd have been out of sight at half-time last night.

As for posters saying that was a shite game, can't see that. Dundee were shite in the first half but Raith were very good and controlled the game, albeit being Raith they lacked a cutting edge and failed to create enough with their dominance. Second half Raith were shite, Dundee considerably improved with the change of shape and created a ridiculous number of chances.

Each team having a shite 45 minutes doesn't make it a bad game. If anything it made it better to watch, with Dundee's clowncar defending in the first half and Raith's inability to get out of their own half in the second adding to the entertainment. Rather that than a borefest of two competent teams cancelling each other out.

Nah, that's nonsense. One of the main reasons we got back into the game is because Raith couldn't hold the ball up the field - precisely our issue with Rudden. What chances were made for Gullan that he squandered?  Because Rudden certainly wouldn't have made any chances himself and I can't really remember Raith have any chances to be 'out of sight'.

You're judging our players based on their past. The likes of Sheridan and Jakubiak may have been good several year ago but neither would get a start for most Championship sides indeed as Jakubiak highlighted by struggling to get into or score for Partick Thistle just last season. So attacking depth is on reputation alone - Sheridan and Jakubiak are currently living off their name.

Rudden has goals in him, that I do agree on but he needs a leader beside him, a striker that can hold the ball up for him, give him knock downs and play him through on goal. Without that, Rudden offers, well, very little. He's not the worst striker in the world but he needs a huge amount of support alongside him to be effective which he received at Partick Thistle through Brian Graham.

Your first paragraph isn't just Rudden last night, that encapsulates his whole game.

We put umpteen low crosses in but there was no-one there to take them. Gullan was the No.9.

Fairly confident we would have scored more goals last night if we had Rudden playing for us instead of Gullan. Admittedly, that’s going on his previous form for Partick Thistle.

It was a good game to attend, a bit of atmosphere and an entertaining 90 minutes.

If Rovers had a striker we could have won that. First half rovers played well and had some decent build up play.

Dundee had the luxury of a bench and made changes which were effective and that equaliser was coming for a good 20 minutes. Still either team could have won it at the end.

It was the sort of chaos that I'd have chucked big John into for more than the 2 minutes he got.

Happy with a point given the pressure Dundee has us under in the second period.

We played really well the first half, but to play the way we play and maintain it for 90mins we need to have like for like for like guys coming on to with high energy and continuing the pressing game - the dilemma for Murray is that, IMO in terms of players fit, we don’t get the same mould of player coming on.

Ultimately leads to him keeping guys on the park than he probably should - which could have cost us as a few looked leggy with 20 to go. That’s what he’s paid the wages for though to make those decisions.

Big John nearly got an assist at the end - think the whole stadium would go bonkers if the big man got on the end of one of those crosses and hit the net.

Feel a bit sorry for the guy, moved to a new country - aye he’s maybe no the best but he could surely get at least a wee bit longer to wee what he can do or to change style a bit and go a bit direct when chasing a game.

Everyone loves the big man as well - south stand lit up when he came on 😂

For me, big John should be an impact sub. Send him on fresh for the last 10-20 minutes and let him bully teams. Especially in home games where we are more likely to go for the win.

I’ve never seen him play 90 minutes for us yet, but I think he could be a useful sub.

Had he spent more time trying to get the ball instead of pulling the defender to the ground, he might have done just that.
