Kilmarnock v St Mirren

Assumed since VAR had reviewed it that Ethan had elbowed McKenzie but having now seen the incident again I hope the club appeal it, never in a million years is that a red card offence.

I don't think Erhahon has meant it, I think he's trying to shrug off McKenzie after he puts his hands on him. However Ethan's caught him flush with the arm and if the ref thinks it's dangerous and gives a red for it, hard to see how you appeal with any chance of success. Livi have found that in the last few games.

It's an absolute nailed on red card - the laws of the game are very clear that any deliberate strike on the arm or face is classified as violent conduct, unless the force used was negligible. It might not have been a full force wallop, but it was definitely an intentional thrust into the face and more than enough to clear that "negligible" bar.

McKenzie seemed to think it was a full force wallop given his clutching his face and rolling on the ground.

Still, at least you have found a use for him, getting players sent off is clearly his forte.

This was McKenzie during todays game. His face is absolutely battered as a result of elbows from Gogic and the incident with Erhahon.

Please for once, give it a rest.

Anyone trying to claim that Erhahon incident didn't merit a red is at it.

He catches McKenzie very cleanly with his elbow then pushes him away, and he knew exactly what he was doing. He was incredibly angry at Doidge for a fairly innocuous challenge a few minutes earlier and seemed to be looking for a bit of a fight.

He's a wee fanny with an attitude issue. Always has been.

Not much better, but a bit better yes, which is based on having 6 points more than you with an additional 2 games in hand, and not having Blair Alston as our midfield "playmaker".

Good job he isn't out midfield "playmaker" either then.

He's had the least amount of game time out of all our midfielders this season bar Lyons, and only played yesterday because everyone else was suspended.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with his face after the red card incident.

That was all Gogic.

Sorry, forgot it was usually Alan Power or Liam Donnelly who take the playmaker role 😂

Having watched Sportscene, there wasn't a great deal in the red card and I feel sorry for Erhahon. He's tried to shug McKenzie off and bumped his face. Without the playacting Erhahon probably stays on the park. There's no way it would get overturned though.

Seeing Gogic's one again, that's a straight red for me and I'm astounded VAR didn't intervene.

Just looking for some clarification here.

Both pundits said it was clearly unintentional and with minimal force.

He meant to shrug away (their words) a player who had made contact with him from behind, and due to height difference (their words) catches him in the face.

Normally when two players jump for the ball and an arm/hand/elbow hits a player in the face/head it’s a yellow card.  If it’s intentional and with force it’s a red.

What Erahon did was less than what Gogic did.

That’s just nonsense.

Why was the killie boy who shoved Baccus deliberately in the second half not sent off then?

Hard to criticise Saint Mirren for the anti football for 80 minutes as any team in their position would have done the same. It was up to us to score, and we couldn’t. We were very poor today.

Also the blatant time wasting, the ref should have dealt with that, an early yellow would normally suffice, but he didn’t and the game was wasted. They felt confident enough to continue and fair play to them as ultimately it’s the refs responsibility to control the game.

Thought the ref was utter shite for both teams, weak and indecisive throughout, apart from the obvious red card.

Anti football ? We were hardly clinging on for dear life. Throughout I honestly thought we looked more likely to nick one on the counter than concede. There was a real lack of urgency throughout from Killie and they didn't so much run out of ideas as never really had any in the first place. Yes there was a wee bit of time wasting but that's simply game management in the circumstances, I've seen much, much worse and it was miles from anti football as we did get forward pretty often and could / should have won it with the Grieve chance at the end.

The "anti football/time wasting" patter is a nice excuse.

Of course we tried to slow the game down, maybe that seems like a euphemism, but teams aren't obliged to rush to take set pieces or throw ins.

Bringing Gallagher up to take long throws may have seemed like a time wasting tactic but if you've watched St Mirren this season you'll know we do that every game.

The referee never once spoke to Carson about time and the one booking he gave was for hesitating at a throw in a period of the game when we were well on top.
