Looking at a bet builder - who takes your penalties?

Former Saint Sean Kelly ballooned one over the railway line at SMP.

He's scored 2 and missed 2 but wasn't on the pitch against Hibs so don't know if he's still our pen taker. Previously Obileye and Holt have taken them but also missed then Kelly took over. Apparently Kelly is the best in training so maybe it's a pressure thing when it counts in a live game.

It'll surely be the usual 5-3-2 for St Mirren and probably an unchanged line up from the last match. Main and Ayunga are a pair of livewires, both defensively - Ayunga's pressing of Stewart against Aberdeen turned that match, and in attack - Main's later penalty win was impressive. Ayunga probably the more talented on the ball of the two and the slightly bigger threat. Good controlling centre mid in Erhahon, O'Hara and Baccus play box to box roles either side, Baccus is excellent and his bursts from deep are a goal threat. Tanser's crossing can be a danger.

St Mirren have 3 centre backs, 3 centre mids and 2 centre forwards. So you don't try to build up through the centre of the pitch, you go down the sides. If Nouble is fit, Martindale will go 4-3-3 trying to get the full backs combining with the wingers. If Nouble isn't fit we might instead see a 4-3-2-1. This has the centre mid on each side combining with their full back. I really want to see Omeonga play as we maintain possession better with him and long ball is not going to work against St Mirren's set up. Montaño and Devlin at full back will be important. Likewise Anderson and Bahamboula in attack.

Probably a bit of a nullifying tactical battle initially but with potential to later open up a lot if one team has a lead.

He hasn't had any yet this season as he's not been on the pitch for them but Anderson, most likely.

I get the impression Anderson is a fair way down the list of penalty takers. Sean Kelly seems to be the main taker with Holt and Obileye behind him. Fitzwater taking a penalty against Hibs was a strange one. I'd imagine Shinnie and Stephen Kelly are higher on the list than Anderson too

That's disappointing. I like to have your striker taking penalties unless there's a genuine specialist elsewhere in the team.

If Nouble plays, we win this pretty handily. Gallagher doesn't have it in him to cope with Nouble. He's best using his physical advantage to offput and bully forwards, he can't do that to Nouble.

If Nouble doesn't play I can see Gallagher eating Bahamboula for breakfast on that side

I think Gallagher has been playing in the centre with Fraser to his right and Dunne to his left. You're right, though, that if fit Nouble can wreck havoc no matter who his direct opponent is. I think Bahamboula could get some joy against Dunne and Tanser on St Mirren's left, maybe the slightly weaker side to their defence (though still strong).

I wouldn't touch it :D We've missed quite a few more penalties than we've scored. We can't score them at all

There's a feeling of dread for me when we get penalties. We're fucking shite at them and the heads just go down when one's missed.

Haven't seen what the special pie is for tonight to know how excited I am, or if there is one at all.

I've ignored all your advice.

Kelly to score any time, Livi to win or draw, less than four goals, Baccus and Erhahon to get booked. 50p at ~70/1.

I'm sure the rest of the Livi supporters will join me in wishing you the best of luck with your bet

Unchanged for us.

Nouble still out for Livi with Fitzwater joining him on the sidelines. Boyes in at centre-half for his first start of the season?

It is, aye. He's made a few sub appearances but this will be a test for him up against Ayunga and Main.
