Hamilton Academical thread

Recommended Posts

The Accies thread appears to be gone? Has Bateman chucked it/been emptied? Has the thread been moved to the league 1 forum already?

Anyway I genuinely think that result will see the end of Rankin at some point before new year. That result also probably condemns us to the play off spot at the very best, still being in touching distance of Arbroath is the only positive to look at.

There does seem to be a surprising lack of Hamilton fans on this forum these days when they used to be one of the more prolific fan bases on this website.

No surprise it's to see when they look to finally be getting flushed down the league system.

Shitebags.

Rankin would be as well slinking off into the night while he still has a decent chance of grabbing himself a punditry gig on Sportsound as well as appearing on panel for live games as he's been doing.

Also gives us the chance to give the job to someone, anyone who can actually set a team up in an organised structure that is both difficult to break down & actually offers a threat going forward.

Something Rankin has failed miserably at

We did punch above our weight for a good few years, but its now coming back to business as usual.

WE have a the lowest fanbase in this league and probably half of league 1 as well, and it going to get even lower when we go down.

2 leaugue wins in 18 games that an even worse ration than when Canning was at his worst.

The main problem at club is Colin McGowan the man who nearly destroyed Raith a number of years ago before they kicked him out and he is now making a bloody good attempt to destroy us.. All his focus is on his pet project, people with addiction problems etc and bringining in some very dodgy sponsors, none of whom last or seem to contribute to club.

I am all for bringing through youth players but not an entire team made up of 16 to 18 year old prospects. And for all our decent youth system how many have we actually sold in last 10 years, got cash for them and they have really shone elsewhere. Club are living off the memory of McCarthy and McArthur from around 12 years ago

Lewis Ferguson, lad has done well and we got literally nothing for him

Greg Docherty, done OK and we got £ 650,000

and that is about it, a few have went to other Scottish clubs and are doing OK but we got literally nothing for them, Ali Crawford, Eammon Brophy, Mikey Devlin

Change the manager and what then. he will still have to work with the same under achievers.

Seaside leagues her were come where will stay for some considerable time

Symptomatic, perhaps, of how difficult it is to remain emotionally invested in a football club that has long since given up any remaining semblance of giving a f**k about football.

We're now very much a charity organisation that has a football team attached to it, with the results on the pitch exactly what you would expect from such a set up.

On current trajectory, unless McGowan can find some way to wind the football club up once the stadium mortgage is paid off, we'll be playing non-league football before the end of the decade.

Youse are fucking shite and going back where you belong in tinpot town.

The Bateman the first to crawl away. Glorious.

Thank you.

Oh well, we had a good run, beating Dungdee to the title in 2008 which kept you down for many years then relegating you a few years ago. Wouldn't have missed it for the world.

They make it easier every day to care less and less about them tbh.

How can you be expected to continue to support a club who have zero ambition, continually prioritise non-footballing matters over the first team (whilst happily using the club name to generate publicity), who repeatedly square go supporters who challenge their performance, who openly mock their supporters by laughing at and liking comments on social media, and show time and time again that they do not understand their fanbase?

When you look at everything there is about a football club to support, and why people support a club (especially when it isn't either of the big two in Glasgow) Hamilton Accies no longer offer any of those things.

Never forget it is our club and it will be one day again  once we have despatched the latest "gang" as we did in the dark homeless period.

I have been watching Accies for 46 seasons and bar a couple of short spells, we have always had people running the club acting not in the best interests of the supporters of the club.

If people completely give up-as sadly roughly 60% of our fan base have- we may not even have a club to save.Hang in there as we are in another period of self-inflicted decline and it may get much worse before it can be salvaged.
