Gordon EF
Starting line up, assuming no injuries apart from Gordon: Kelly Hickey - Hendry - McKenna - Robertson McTominay - MacGregor Armstrong - McGinn - Christie Adams Squad: GK: McCrorie, Clark DF: Patterson, Hanley, Porteous, Tierney MF: Gilmour, Ferguson, Fraser, Doak FW: Dykes, Stewart Would like to find a place for Josh Doing but 5 full backs is pushing it. Obviously Cyprus and Spain are completely different propositions so we might want to a bit more attacking against the Cypriots. If Doak keeps looking as impressive as he had, that one might be a great one to give him his first start and see what damage he can do. Though seeing an actual XI with Kelly in goals is quite sobering 🫤

2426255
He's at the back of the queue for Scotland, but was nevertheless still one of the 41 players to be involved with the National Team during 2022. He'll clearly not be considered for the European Qualifiers in March.

Donathan
After how well the back four worked in September (without Robertson) and how poor the back three was in the first half in Turkey, it’s hard to see how we don’t play a back four for these fixtures. I’d absolutely love to get four points out of them but would settle for three. Gunn Patterson-Hendry-McKenna-Robertson McTominay-McGregor Armstrong-McGinn-Christie Stewart For the Spain game I’d play Adams over Stewart and sacrifice one of the wingers for Gilmour in a 4-3-3
Elgin Macca
I know we are still a 2/3 months away but I think its a worry just now how many players we have out of form/not playing/injured. Off the top of my head I would say we only have Robertson, Mcgregor, Adams playing regular/playing well/fit
Connor7
Got my tickets this morning for the Cyrpus and Spain matches. England game has sold out already, not overly fussed for that one. Looking forward to it....roll on March

monthefife
Just me or does anyone else find it alarming/concerning at how few minutes our supposed strongest starting XI players have played since the WC? Ideally want your best players playing regularly.
Elgin Macca
Below was our squad for the Ukraine game in the nations league. Coloured them green/red in terms of where they have been at in club football recently. Think its a big worry with the games only 5ish weeks away Gordon - Injured Patterson- Injured Hendry- Not been playing- couple of recent games McKenna-Seems to be playing pretty regular in an improved forest team. Tierney – Not playing McTominay- Not playing McGregor – playing well/regular S Armstrong-injured McGinn-in and out/not playing regular Christie-not playing regular Adams- Regular for a struggling Southampton team. Confidence could be a problem Taylor-playing well/regular Porteous- Good move to Watford. Seems to be straight in as a starter Dykes-injured Kelly-hopeless Gilmour-not playing Ralston-injured Fraser-nowhere near playing Jack- in and out of the team McCrorie- no where near playing Hickey-has been injured/making his way back McLean- seems to be in and out of the Norwich team. Probably should be dropping out of the squad in the near future anyway

Clarke is loyal usually, so I can't see him really changing it up too much. Only real bit of good news is that now Porteus has his long term future secured he will continue to be a team player and kick on from his Scotland debut, without having to make it the Ryan Porteus audition show like he did in his last derby appearance.....

McTominay and McCrorie are currently injured and not available to play. Scott McKenna picked up a hamstring injury for Nottingham Forest at the weekend while Billy Gilmour was ill at the weekend. Ryan Christie has played 460 minutes for Bournemouth (51%) since the World Cup break. Kenny McLean has played 810 minutes for Norwich (90%) since the World Cup break. Ryan Jack has played 707 minutes for Rangers (60%) since the World Cup break. Billy Gilmour has played 233 minutes for Brighton (26%) since the World Cup break. * Both League and Cup matches. The only players likely to be unavailable for selection come March as it stands are Halkett, Gordon, Stewart and Ramsay with a large question mark around Dykes. Donathan
My glass half full thinking is that the players will be well refreshed and keen to use the international games as an opportunity to impress their club managers
