Team submitted. Four changes from last year. Two enforced (because they died) and two dropped which could mean certain death in 2023. For the first time ever I've even got subs as Pele and Pope Benedict might not make it.

In- always try and have at least one Scottish football personality to make it relevant to P&B.

It's a much higher standard over these past few years, I had 5 hits including captain this year and just scraping top 20. Pretty sure three hits used to give you a good chance of winning it (when it was 10 picks tbf).

I think there’s some fairly obvious low hanging fruit that’ll be picked for multiple teams. 

Do you stay with the crowd for obvious hits and stay with the pack or go curve ball oddities?

It's a great dilemma.

Those 50 juicy bonus points means that even if you're only half as good as the great unwashed at picking moribund slebs, it's a good strategy. Just as long as you can avoid picking what the crowd picks, you double your score (give or take). Easy, right?

The beauty of the scoring system is that on average, contrarian P&Bers are only about 1/3 as good as the herd-following sheeple at picking winners. It's an attractive plan to people who think they're smarter than average, but usually they're really not as clever as they think they are. A glorious trap to illustrate the perils of hubris.

I have PM'd everyone who picked Pele, either to put in one of their subs or ask for a replacement.

@blackislekillie, @gkneil, @Karpaty Lviv and @The Hologram are the only ones left. 

If Benedict dies at some point in the next two and a half days, Aim Here is in charge.

Betty White last year now Pele this year, there's always one to screw up your team. Nominated sub put in the team before the competition even starts, hope he manages to get to the 1st of January.  Good luck to everybody for 2023.
