Tinpot.

🤣🤣🤣

it’s only a couple of seasons since your lot had, what, five or six games postponed because of the nick of your pitch, and that was in much milder weather than this week’s.

Talk about the tinpot calling the kettle black!     😜

Patrick Thistle got Firhill ready. You just have to want it enough. Shame on Morton.

Back on 17th December we were only separated by one point (QP 30 Morton 29) with Morton having a better goal difference of +8 to our +6. A cracking match was in prospect. Things have changed a bit since then with the Spiders putting in some good results resulting in 13 more points. On the other hand, Morton have not done well over the winter period only gaining two points so the difference is now 12 points (QP 43 Morton 31) with Morton having played one less game. Goal difference has changed substantially with QP on +16 and Morton on +5. This just shows the effect of a few  bad results in a row which can happen to anyone. However, Morton have only had nine home games to our eleven.

Our unfortunate draw at the Highland Thistle and then being resoundingly stuffed by Dundee put the brakes on our charge up the league. We rectified that somewhat by getting a more realistic win against the Highland mob in the Scottish Cup debacle and followed that up by beating nearest rivals, Ayr, 2-0, a good result.

We know Morton have the best defence in the league at home conceding only seven goals in nine games, a fantastic achievement, but our 24 away goals this year must be a warning to them. The loss of Murray doesn't seem to have affected the team much so a good match is in prospect.

I think it will be tight but still feel it will still be a cracking match. Ferrie will come up with a clean sheet once again and Queen's go on to win 1-0 with Savoury the goal scorer.

After three home games in three months, we now have three in three weeks. Queen's Park then Dundee is the toughest double header you'll get in this league, but we really need to be winning one of them.

If we're basing hopes of getting some momentum to compete for the playoffs back on 9 of our remaining 14 games being at home (only 1 of the 6 game winless run has been) then taking 5 points or fewer from the next three isn't going to cut it, while not winning either of the next two would leave us 8 without a win putting massive pressure on the Cove game.

Queen's are obviously favourites, but after back to back 3-0 thumpings (which definitely both happened on the park) in their last two away games they evidently aren't unbeatable either.

Four points wouldn't be great, but it would be perfectly acceptable, given our current form.

And I'd happily take five points from this run, no question: that would be enough to really stop the rot and keep us in touch with the top four.

Our form has been poor, but I have to say I fancy us to win this.

Dangerous territory for a Morton supporter...

After Saturdays game against Caley.. it kinda felt like the result was more a defeat than a draw having twice been in a position to take all three points. Having  said that.. I too feel quietly confident of securing a win on Sat.

Still havent heard an explanation for Oakleys absence last Saturday. Anyone?

Hard to predict as we’ve only met Morton once and that was at a time we were still jiggling our best Xl. October was our dullest month by far. Changes from then will be Eze out for Fox; Oakley for Davidson; Murray for Shields. Plus Grant Savoury was in his non-combat stookie phase. Consistency has been much better since then. No good reason we can’t win. Cal “the Cat”Ferrie for another shutout.
