St Mirren V Dundee

HT 0-0
As expected really. Dundee sitting deep and as we are set up as a counter attacking side, we are struggling to to break them down. Not a clear cut chance created by either side.  Best opportunity was for Dundee, header from a corner, just wide. Also a Di Canio scisssor kick effort well saved by Carson on HT.
It ominously reminds me of the first half against Arbroath in the league cup in the summer, and we know how that ended.
If we get through here, we get through ugly. Extra time and penalties not unlikely.
What we need to do is get the full backs further forward. Tanser and Strain are set up positionally like they’re playing a Premiership side, they aren’t. Get up the pitch and get to their byline and attack.
I’d also get at least one of Brophy and/or Grieve on for Ayunga and/or Main, both have been completely ineffectual thusfar. We need goal-scorers here, not hammer throwers.
