When I was out and about in the mid-eighties into the 90s I genuinely never saw anyone partaking when on a night out. Started going to pubs in 1989 and I've genuinely never seen anyone use it. Being a metalhead, the folk I hung about with were into beer (and weed for some), and that's about it!
