Like everything, it's generational.  When I was out and about in the mid-eighties into the 90s I genuinely never saw anyone partaking when on a night out.  For sure there mist have been pockets of folk on it but it wasn't the norm.

Apart from the health risks, it was extremely expensive! Which is why it was considered a showbiz/yuppy drug.

Started going to pubs in 1989 and I've genuinely never seen anyone use it. Being a metalhead, the folk I hung about with were into beer (and weed for some), and that's about it!

Hence why I used the line (pun intended) about it being cheap knock off stuff that these bams are getting their hands on. If they got a hold of any decent stuff they'd be totally fucked after half a line rather than the half dozen that they need and it still does nothing for them.
