Falkirk v Edinburgh

Recommended Posts

Just have to mention again, the referee not stopping the game immediately when the ball got absolutely fuckoed right into Donaldsons face from point blank range, despite having stopped the game for a player getting hit in the head with the ball from range in the first half.

Dangerous incompetence. It was absolutely clear straight away that he was in some distress. A moron of a ref.

Happy enough after that. Thought we struggled to break Edinburgh down at times which is going to be a theme throughout the rest of the season.

Think we all knew about Olas technical ability but what impressed me was his tackling (when he needed to) and general work rate. More games and fitness can only make this improve. A superb bit of skill for his goal.

Agree with Donaldson being solid again. Thought Henderson and McGinn off the boil today, especially the former in possession.

Need to build on this now after last week.

Another game with eleven behind the ball. This type of game becoming the norm, with teams fancying themselves from set pieces and breakaways. Difficult to play against but with another three/four players deciding to throw in a poorly, but happy with the three points.”

Henderson McGinn Nesbit Morrison all needing a rest on the bench, and thankfully we’ve got a guy in Lawal who deceiving looks like a winner. We gain a little but a general poor performance.

First half was an absolute dirge. Major transformation in the second half. Lawal’s performance today was ample demonstration of why the Nesbitts and McGuffies of this world are just not right for us.

McCann has come through the troubles heaped on him by questionable managers more or less since the day he arrived. All credit to him for that.

……..and finally we beat a team above is in the league, and we move 5 points ahead of Sheerin’s points tally. Long may it continue. On to next week, and hopefully another 3 valuable points.

For me, another physical midfielder and a right back and we would be just about there.

I thought McGinn and Nesbitt were absolutely fine. Henderson's one of those defenders that is ok 90% of the time but likes to throw in a couple of howlers per game. Morrison was pish.

A totally dominant performance from us today- we should really have scored a lot more given the possession we enjoyed. I have no idea how Edinburgh were second in the league until today, they have looked ganting both times we’ve played them.

Great to see Lawal get a start and offer some much needed dynamism in the midfield. Another poor game for Morrison and Nesbitt in my view- no shortage of effort but very little contribution from either.

Each to their own opinion...for me that was as good as I've seen nesbitt...very few misplaced passes got through a hell of a lot of work & even won the ball back...lawal best on the park closely followed by mcann & Donaldson....would play Mackie before Henderson...he can hardly win a ball in the air... Morrison was terrible... again

Nesbitt was fine today, credit to him he never goes hiding. He brings a bit of intensity to the game that we would miss if he didn’t play.

First half we were a bit static, very little movement and moving the ball slowly made it easy for Edinburgh. 2nd half was better and ultimately was a comfortable win. Clyde getting something made it even sweeter. Overall decent day at the office 💪

Nesbitt can buzz around a lot, but that’s about it. He doesn’t really influence games, and he can check out all too regularly.
If McGuffie had played today with Lawal in the starting line up ahead of Nesbitt, then Nesbitt wouldn’t have been missed.

Missing the Nisbett thing, can fan dance all game but brings literally zero overall. McGinn is a very decent player, and in this league should be cruising the majority of games, unfortunately and as highlighted last week toiled again today. Morrison like a few others huffed and puffed.

Yes a welcoming three points but at best we looked very average.

There’s only 1 player in the whole country with more league assists than Aidan Nesbitt yet still people think he brings nothing.

Mind boggling.

Some folk just like to dislike certain players regardless of what they do, it’s the Falkirk way 😂

In what way did McGinn 'toil' today?

He brought next to nothing today, and absolutely last week. His weaknesses far outweigh his strengths. Sadly, there’s no stats for checking out of games, missed chances, misplaced passes, and rotten decision making.

The numbers there would be piling up much faster than his “assists”.
