On fire Raith v Accies

How was Connell today? With Vaughan and Frederickson back fit and Gullan hopefully not far away there's strong competition for the striker(s) position.

For me he did a lot of good things, passed the ball well and gave the Accies defence a lot to think about, still needs to work on his finishing but those long throws cause havoc for defences.

I know we beat Thistle 3-0 last week and you'd have to say that despite their current travails they're still better than Accies, but I think today's the best we've played all season. We looked cohesive and deliberate across the park, a very good team, doing good things together.

Get Raith back in your avatar mate. It’s time…..it’s time 😆

Worth noting too we've now scored three goals in each of our last four home games. Given our well-documented lack of a striker and some of the frustration we've had with not putting chances away, that's really good going.

We’re doing really well. What a game of football

Great finish by Easton for the first. Connell should have made it two shortly after but just didn't connect with the ball. The Hamilton striker held the ball well and done o'riordan for the goal. Other than that dick who was my motm and o'riordan defended well. Didn't see what happened for the penalty but Connolly slotted home nicely. Great assist by Vaughan for dicks goal. Smith made a great save at 1-0 iirc, which I think everyone in the stadium was applauding. Type of game we would have lost last season. Good to see us just going about our business and growing as a team week on week. I do think we need to get more out of Easton at times but can't fault his effort. Millen is a different player from the first few games. He puts some quality balls in the box but just not had a striker in the right place to take advantage.

It's good to see, especially as we're deliberately not playing in a way that puts onus on a striker to be the match winner. Tough one next week though.

Credit as well to Liam Dick, another great display at the back, should have been man of the match.

Liam Dick, man he's some centre half now. His defensive clearing headers are a thing of wonder.

Easton's doing ok considering he's out of position but you can't shift Stanton on his form. Midfield balance is perfection at the moment, with options if anyone gets injured or drops in form (Spencer aside)

Looking forward to Dundee next week.

More likely when either Brown or Spencer get the inevitable suspension

Raith's width is tricky to defend and making it way too easy to play around even if it's not going through the middle a lot. It's not been a particularly good performance but getting the equaliser at least keeps the fans on side for the time being. Tiehi is a leg and we're getting the odd chance behind Raith's FBs. Actually jad two or three sitters as well as the goal.

After a ropey start to the season, IM has really stamped his authority on the squad and true to work no other team is working as hard on the pitch in the division. After a few doubters who questioned his managerial credibilities would you put your hands up and say he has now proved you wrong?

Well done Raith and well done IM

Yes definitely

Dick deserved man of the match.

I was actually thinking in the first half that it was quite similar to Rankin's very first competitive game against Dundee where we also played a back five.

Both times, the opposition were able to switch the play pretty easily (which tends to happen against a back five, but you'd hope for a wee bit more pressure) and both sides were able to pin Accies' wing-backs by having a runner between the CB and WB meaning the WB can't engage player on the outside of the midfield two. Makes it easy to pin a team in.

Raith also loved a man advantage out wide which meant they could pop it around to draw and stretch the shapeless Accies. So many times in the second half, Raith would have the ball on the edge of the Accies box and no one knew which player was supposed to step out.

Raith were obvs good, probably the best opposition display this season, but Rankin's just a really bad manager who's been shagged rotten by almost everyone he's come up against.

Solid performance again. Some of the movement going forward was a joy to watch. Easton’s goal was a peach and Vaughan’s assist. What a player to get back.  Things feel like they are definitely starting to click. Huge test at Dens next week but great to be sitting in amongst the pack at the top

Another good performance and win, and another game where it was a struggle to pick a MOTM as you could easily make an argument for so many of them.

You can really see things starting to come together now.  The midfield trio of Brown, Spencer and Stanton is fantastic, they all have a particular job they do but they work together so well too.  Millen has really come onto a game now and him and Connolly have started gelling and really causing teams trouble down the right.  Then Dick and O’Riordan are turning into a really good CB pairing.

It’s almost like Murray knows what he’s doing.
