Maybe ex juniors like Tranent and Boness are finding it a tough league.

Just because Kelty and Bonnyrigg done it not every ex junior club will do it. 

I think a lot of people underestimate the LL, yes there are weak teams which many are desperate to get rid off but not that many.

I don't think there was many people with sensible heads on that went into this season expecting to challenge for top of the league. This season is about finding our feet in new surroundings. It's clear there are stronger and weaker sides than us in this league, so I'd expect us to be comfortably safe/top half. Bear in mind we had an unexpected managerial change and a lot of players going in and out as well. Some expectation management maybe needed, given where we've come to from a few years back.

Can’t speak for Tranent but in Bo’ness case there’s a big element of our results being “self inflicted” with regards our league position and being out the Scottish.

Bonnyrigg have a good manager and built a good team but ultimately they may just be getting to the point that their current squad are finding their level.

K£lty being where they are is a completely different kettle of fish though.

Can understand why Bo'ness United can be targeted for this sort of comment right now but Tranent are only 5 points behind East Kilbride with a game in hand. The Lowland League is becoming stronger and will eventually be the division it always should have been if it had been filled by on field merit considerations rather than by an application process but there are still some clubs at the bottom that are at least a couple of tiers higher than they really belong in pyramid terms.

Sorry Lurker, can't let the "by application "comment pass. The vast majority of clubs which are now crying foul were exactly the same clubs who roundly rubbished the whole idea of the Pyramid. They then moved on to " ok but on our terms only " and once they saw the progress made by clubs which saw the writing on the wall first ( Kelty, Bonnyrigg etc) only then agreed ( some reluctantly) to come on board. 

That is all in the past, agree the LL has become stronger will be  even more so as time passes. Not the fault of the clubs which took the leap of faith first if they find themselves in a higher tier because of that.

Of course the big issue is how to speed up the process by way of promotion/ relegation.  That's a topic on it's own.

My understanding is Bo'ness United (not a member and views expressed on here are purely my own) were actively exploring the possibility of moving to the senior grade at the same time as Kelty and Bonnyrigg were and were not roundly rubbishing the whole idea of the pyramid. Bear in mind that it was a lot easier for EoS premier clubs to take the plunge initially than it was for junior clubs that had to get the idea through club AGMs often heavily skewed towards an older generation that was still very attached to the junior grade.

If Bo'ness, Bonnyrigg and Kelty had all joined the EoS at the same time, one of them could have easily been waiting four seasons to progress to the LL given how strong LTHV were at the time because of there only being that one promotion place available. More could have been done to smooth the process for the junior clubs that were actively looking into it. In the west, clubs were being told they would have to join the SoS to even be eligible for licensing. If Kelty hadn't done what they did by moving to the EoS, we could easily still be listening to Tom Johnston droning on about 150k toilet blocks.

Not really sure what you are alluding to with the above, where did you think we should be come the end of October?

Kilwinning Rangers away in the Scottish...not exactly an easy tie for any LL club, we were obviously disappointed after being two up,  but KR are a good side, currently sitting 9th in the WOSPL but with games in hand, which could take them into the top 3.

Poor result/performance v Penicuik on Saturday.

League results have been mixed, but overall we must be satisfied where we are right now as a club, all games have been tough and the ones we have lost all could have went either way.

Tier 9 (South League Juniors) to now being in Tier 5 over a seven year span isn't too bad in my humble opinion.

We're a point off 2nd place in the league after last night. The Lowland is wide open and a decent run can get you right into the mix. Nothing to panic about (other than maybe the amount of penalties we concede...)
