The promotion into positions of authority of the Braverman, Badenoch and 30p (hang 'em high) Lee sorts coupled with 'stop the boats and don't give in to the union barons' ravings - thus playing the Daily Mail/Express card - might actually work for a surprising proportion of the voters. They have budget slots (tax cuts) to play with and a massively influential right wing press to trumpet their praises for quite a while before they have to put themselves at the mercy of the electorate. Watch out for the 'Starmer shagged my hamster' headlines half way through the campaign. Look how long the Daily Mail kept 'currygate' going...
