fixture imbalance

Recommended Posts

this season until the break in december

lok will have played 18 games      15 at home  3 away

1st league game of the season was away

we have been lucky in being drawn at home in different cups

going to have a lot of away days after the new year

i know nothing can be done about cup draws

but surely some of our league games should and should have been changed

Glencairn are the opposite. By the end of the Year we'll have played 7 at home and 14 away, with a run of 3 home games out of 15 matches. All because we've been unlucky to get away games in all of the cup competitions which have coincided with originally scheduled home league games. That's just the luck of the draw. We just need to get on with it.

Why are all the cup competition's all clustered together we have only played 6 league games and don t have one scheduled to play until the 25th November and because we don t play in another associations cup we get free weeks without games !

There has been some attempts to move games around. Even when there's an open date there's obviously a struggle in having a suitable club free and willing to move the date. 19/11 was filled in but with another home game. 29/10 hasn't been replaced as it doesn't look like anything could be arranged.

20/08 @ KRR due to SCC
17/09 @ Cumnock due to Scottish Cup
22/10 @ KRR due to Scottish Cup
29/10 @ Arthurlie due to Arthurlie's SJC game
19/11 @ Troon due to Troon's SCC game, replaced by home v. Petershill

Doesn't help balancing Scottish/SCC/SJC across different dates.

26/11 v. Darvel now postponed due to Darvel's Scottish Cup game + potential Pollok Scottish Cup game. Maybe something could be arranged for then if Pollok get knocked out tomorrow.

There were several possible fixture switches possible to give Pollok a game on 29/10 in place of the Arthurlie match.

Pollok, Largs, Kilwinning, Meadow, Cambuslang and Clydebank were all left without a fixture, with the other Premier Division clubs due to be playing SJFA Cup ties.

Largs (A) or Cambuslang (A)  to redress the home/away imbalance would have been ideal for us as we are/were due to be playing the other 3 within a couple of weeks either side of that date anyway.

Free week on 20th August because of the South Challenge Cup in which you got a bye. Free week on 29th October (this Saturday) because your club didn't want a fixture after being asked if they did.

Cup games coincided with scheduled league away games. Not much I can do about that.

Largs v Cambuslang had already been set up before it was known who was all going to be available. So, only 4 were left without a fixture. Pollok v Meadow was not an option as it is already set for 5th Nov. Pollok had played Clydebank and Kilwinning fairly recently so those weren't options either.

Fair enough didn't know that we didn't want a fixture.

Lads deserve a weekend off after tonight's exertions

Definitely a fair comment re Pollok but @wow-wee is talking about a different team .....
