Shanner
If you want to see a dreadful set of facilities look no further than the away end at bo'ness. Crumbling, uneven terrace, muddy, steep grass bankings, and no chance of getting anywhere near toilet facilities without massive hassle and plenty of steps. Place is a disgrace. I'm sure it might be better at the home end but what use is that to visiting fans.

wintonfan
since the eearly 90's ardrossa winton has provided and improved facilities for disabled fans, it started with a smooth raised gravel platform on the school end terrace, this was later concreted and a concrete path laid from the main gate, a cover was later built and even a shelf for one's pie and bovril fitted along with accessible toilets, access to the catering was via concrete paths at the hill place end the access to cover and food is via smooth concrete paths.... well done awr

wintonfan
imo as a bare minimum for all clubs they should have a raised level area for wheelchair users and access to a accessible toilet. never mind licensing for the scottish cup. then again how many clubs dont even have proper able bodied toilets.
Shanner
8 hours ago, Meadowman said: And yet they’ve got their license strange Did it become harder to obtain a licence in the years after the likes on Bo'ness got theirs? Newton Park is extensively decrepit in a way you don't really see in the top tier of the WOS league these days and It feels like some of the "late to the party" clubs have had to jump through an increasing number of hoops to get things up to scratch.
glensmad
Bo'ness United's stadium and internal administration will be licence compliant, otherwise they wouldn't still be in the Lowland League. It doesn't matter what rules were brought in after a club first gets its licence, all clubs have to prove they remain compliant with the rules each year. It's not a case of you only have to meet the standards that were set when you first applied, every club is audited every year by the rules in place, including new rules which have been introduced.

If fans think it's not up to scratch, what action can they take? For example, is there somewhere/someone they can write to?

A really enjoyable vlog with the presenter speaking with a range of people from both sides. Fantastic idea for the lad to give his thoughts and ideas to the clubs about how they can improve access for everyone. More power to you pal. Thanks for posting.
Shannon
As I said, their facilities must be compliant.Recent example of Fort William getting told to play all their 'home' games away from home for a season in the Highland League due to poor state of their pitch shows not all facilities will be compliant at all times. The licensing officers will I am sure do their best to check all grounds once a year but unless the have the manpower and able to travel all over Scotland every week they can't possibly inspect well over 113 plus licensed clubs especially grounds like Fort William and others in far flung locations of Scotland and I am sure will be grounds especially recently licensed grounds in West will be more modern and up to date than a few grounds I have been to elsewhere.
PossilYM
Was there any mention of money coming forward to help towards ground improvements.

Sergeant Wilson
Is there a rule about accessible facilities for away supporters? I could see the point further up the pyramid. Maybe Bo'ness have a single facility in the "home" end?
