Either Bojo hasn't got the 100 backers, or he has been tipped off that the Privileges Committee investigation will be revealing such a huge pile of shit on him that he would have to resign again.

Or both.

Quite possibly, but only the first one would sway him.

If he was in a position to be put to the membership, he'd do it, and plan only to cross the bridge of the Privileges Committee, when he came to it.

Yes, the fact it's not going to be Johnson is probably to be welcomed.

However, Sunak is very right wing economically, and whilst potentially less chaotic than Johnson, will be just as disastrous for people.

I did read something the other day if it was Sunak, the BOE could likely keep base rate below 5, however Johnson would necessitate having to price in for incompetence.

It's pretty clear he didn't have the numbers - it's all about saving face.

The talk yesterday of him having the numbers was to try and shift the fence sitters to his side - lies to try and set the agenda.

Yep, I'm inclined to agree that the shameless c**t would just have tried to brazen it out again.

Yes, it was all about a strategy.

They made a song and dance of him flying home and were trying like Hell to get big names to come out behind him.  That stalled a bit, so with the number hovering around 50, they claimed to already have twice as many.  This was intended purely to build that "momentum" they go on about.

As plenty were observing at the time, that was simply a lie.  Rees-Mogg told a similar one this morning.

Yesterday I felt the perfect punchline to the Truss debacle would be Johnson replacing her.  Actually, though, this is a better one: Johnson lying about replacing her.

So the guy that was rejected by Tory members just six weeks ago is now the right guy in the eyes of the mps.  Not a peep from the electorate?  Not a say.  Ok sound.

Saddam Hussein, Kim Ill Sung and Joseph Stalin had more legitimacy than Sunak.

Probably had more noble intentions too.

He was the right guy in the eyes of the MPs back then too.
