The 30 backers for Johnson (so far) DRoss not on there (yet)

Absolute not serious politicians declaring yet. The first out the traps for Boris will be hoping for a reward for their loyalty, either in cabinet or being elevated.

If Ben Wallace and Penny Mordant came in behind Sunak that would be a formidable trio from the available talent.

Give it to Boris. Will cause chaos, but f**k it. Let the whole project burn.
All those that voted for this chaos are entitled to it and watch the whole thing drag the UK into the gutter while we go our own way. I'd rather Scotland left on good terms with a strong UK too, but if they knowingly going for Boris again, then hell mend them all.
If Boris did get it then I imagine there will be quite few Tory MPs becoming independents.

The best thing the opponents could do is agree a unity candidate to blow him out of the water.

Can't see that happening if Johnson is lying second.

Nor Mourdant.....never forget the racist tendencies from the Tory membership when it comes to voting in a leader - they have cocked it up once in the last two months and would quite happily cock it up again

who are the Daily Mail backing? They have such a good record of endorsing the right candidate

Oh, and Johnson is never lying second....he is always lying first and foremost.

Is Boris Johnson even capable of forming a government if he wins it? Presumably there will be a few idiots that will pretend they suffer from some form of amnesia.

I've been looking at some of his backers. Pretty much one-term 'Red Wall' types that seem to forget that whilst dear Boris might have helped win then their seat, he as good as lost them it too, due to him acting like the spoiled, entitled p***k that he is. Flawless logic as ever from them - he won before, he must be able to do it again. The rest are cranks (Chope, Jenkyns, Fabricant and his little puppy, Nadine).

As far as the membership goes, whoever it was that called him the Tory Corbyn was spot on. There's a weird a cult around Johnson and people are prepared to back him whilst being seemingly oblivious that the country at large despises him.

If Johnson wins he will easily be able to form a government for one reason alone, what’s the alternative?

If he cannot get (relatively) competent Tories to serve then there’s more chance that it will all crash and there would need to be yet another leadership contest.  No one in the Tory ranks will want that.

There may well be, a few have said as such, but doubt there would be the required c40 needed to move against the government so they lose the confidence vote in parliament required to trigger a GE.

And he's facing investigation by a parliamentary committee, which if they find against him may result in his suspension from the house and a by election.

Are the Tories trying to have 4 prime minister's in 12 months? If they are this is the way to go about it.
