66 minutes to change anything, f**k me.

Games with Livi often are decided on who scores first. May squandered 2 decent openings and Brown had a great run and shot off the bar which I expect will be his St Johnstone career highlight.  Other than that we were poor.

Livi are masters of the dark arts and were aided by an incompetent ref. Wasting time, falling over feigning injury and ball boys taking ages to get the ball back when they’re sitting with one at pitch side. They are a side fully in keeping with their manager‘s character.

Theo Bair will never amount to anything, he’s had plenty of chances and he’s not the answer. Brown has no left foot so is not a good option at lwb as he can’t drive down the wing and turns back every time he gets possession.

Worst of the lot was our manager who felt leaving that set up and team the same for 3/4 of the match was the right decision.

Livi will be safe. Solid and with a front three that are a handful, they’ll push for top six again.  We are in for another relegation battle the way we’re heading.

Wooft, Clancy aiding Livi is something i never thought i'd see in a sentence, good one.

Great shitehousing from Devlin when he was pushed over in our box after Shamal collected the ball, and got the foul. Then decided to stay down and wave for the physio, knowing he wouldn't need to go off the pitch afterwards. His wave to the booing St Johnstone fans when he got up and ran up the pitch was great wumming too. 🤣

End off the day despite all heeing and hawing from both supports.Livi deserved that and 1 0 flattered Saints to be fair.Couple of chances for the fermers  but overall going on the 90 or so minutes, well earned 3 points for the Lions despite Clancys best efforts to scupper the final outcome.Nowhere near a classic, but we got there in the end.🦁👏.

Ooooft. A competent ref might have had us winning by more than just the 1

You didn’t need a competent ref. We didn’t do nearly enough to take anything.

My point is just Livi are a bad team to go behind to as they’re so good at the gamesmanship side of things. It breaks up the game constantly and doesn’t let you get any rhythm or momentum going.

Between that and our overall incompetence on the ball, it never really looked like we’d get back into it apart from a brief flurry in the last 5 minutes where we might have stumbled into a goal.

Appreciate its a small sample size, but St Johnstone in the second half looked a mess tactics wise. Is Max K actually a deep lying playmaker or was he just bored of watching the rest of them?

Hes been used elsewhere, effectively, as a winger or sometimes central behind a striker.

We regularly look a mess when chasing a game, just a case of chuck attacking players at it and see what sticks. Shape, especially in the middle, just disappears. Maybe not a surprise when the manager says CMs are in the team to give the ball to wingers and nothing more.

Committing fouls isn't the only component to "shitefesting" but it's interesting that the foul table goes more or less in line with club player budget. Other than Hibs as an obvious outlier.

Edit: Rangers and Celtic actually foul a huge amount relative to the comparitively low amount of time they're not in possession during matches. Pair of shitefesters.

Ah that makes sense, I thought he was a winger/attacker at Kelly Hearts. I thought he looked good and enthusiastic, but he’s nowhere near tidy enough on the ball to play at CM

Thought Considine looked fairly decent today, he had a hard front three to play against and looked pretty solid for a guy that's massively struggled with injuries and spent ages out in the last 18 months. Can see the improvement in Stevie May as well, previously he's looked absolutely hopeless against us but had a bit of a spark today.

St Johnstone genuinely looked like a better team that Ross County did last week but we managed to get a hold of the game a bit easier.

Fair enough, yeah we've won a few games 1-0 this season, managing to see it out with good game management. Tbf i would say the same about St Johnstone, you've done that sort of thing to us a few times too, particularly in the cup final.

Would rather we scored 1 or 2 more right enough, and gave us Livi fans a bit more of a relaxing afternoon, but until Anderson starts games we've not a natural finisher in the team and getting one goal is mostly enough for us to get something, if we score first.

Ross County came for a 0-0 draw last week and played with a low block, making it very difficult to get a clear shot at their goal, basically what we do to Sevco and Celtic when playing them trying to scrape something. Yeah St Johnstone look a far better team.

A game that Livi more than deserved to win. Better all over the park. Nouble is what Bair should be looking to do.

Brown at left back is a total waste of him and a position. Never works. Davidson is out of his depth as had no idea what to do to change ge the direction of the game.

Not just because we lost, but Clancy was terrible for both teams. Utter pointless episode at end before blowing final whistle sums him up.

The dawning realisation for Livingston fans that 80% of the teams in the league have zero interest in a game of football breaking out after scoring first. The difference in recent games between these sides is they got the first goal yesterday. Hate when my team do it, hate when other teams do it. £25 for watch guys paid handsomely try and keep a football active for as little time as possible.

Not a criticism of Livingston as everyone other than the Old Firm do it, just felt it was relevant to bring up given previous comments after these games.

No doubt the better team won. Post from @SJFCtheTeamForMe either on here on the club thread made lots of good points and largely covers my views. Last two away games, we've been out worked and out battled. Was prepared to put it down to a bad night at Kilmarnock but said it couldn't be repeated and we needed a reaction. Didn't get it.

Whilst not quite as bad (yet) as last season, reaction to going behind not what it should be. We are identically placed as to last season at this stage in terms of points and GD but cannot now fall into the sort of chasm we did a year ago. Tactically inflexibility doesn't reassure you that definitely won't happen and that's what played a major part a year ago. The players didn't believe in the system.

Joel Nouble was excellent and, once he got going, Stephen Kelly had a promising first start for the hosts. Really like Nouble. Livingston have a good number of decent players.

Appreciate the sentiment given fans of all teams can get tunnel vision when looking at their own team, however I wouldn't say Livi killed the game until about the 80th minute. In the second half alone we had great chances for Holt and Bamboula, as well as Nouble’s disallowed goal and Devlin’s half chance.

Given we watched Hopkinball for three years, yesterday was free flowing football!

Refs like to throw some bizarre decisions into matches.

Last week the ref stopped the game and held it up to let a Celtic player put his boot back on.

Yesterday a free kick was awarded late on to Livi just outside their own box and the ball ended up around the centre circle. Rather than either ignoring it or kicking it back towards the site of the foul, Nouble picked the ball up and walked as slow as he could towards the waiting keeper obviously intending to hand him the ball in person. Ryan McGowan understandably wants the game to get going so tries to take the ball out of Noubles hands. Nouble reacts aggressively.

Booking McGowan.

The best bit about that was that Clancy gathered players round, gave bookings then immediately blew for full time as the ball was in the air

As mentioned, he didn’t really impact the game but some of his decisions were odd to say the least

I’d say McGowans reaction warranted a booking as did the Livi player for time wasting  (if bookings were being given) but he also booked Obileye rather than Nouble

McGowan went in and pushed Nouble...it was a booking all day. He didn't book Nouble, it was Ayo for storming in and getting involved
