Nope. Barely anyone other than Brees, Rivers, and Herbert has thrown a pass for the Chargers in 20 years

Dan Fouts had a fair chunk of the 80s and a bit of the 90s too.

Dan Fouts retired after the '87 season

Other than Tyrod taking the first start of 2020, since Brees was benched for half of 2003 the only other QB to see meaningful action for the Bolts was Billy Volek in the AFC Divisional game in Indi when Rivers blew out his knee. PR came back and played in NE the next week on a torn ligament.

Less said about the period between Fouts retirement and Beathard trading for Stan Humphries the better.

Just sticks in my mind haha Were the 90s a barren decade? That guy that was a #1 pick that turns up on Sky Sports now and again?

Early/mid 90's were fine as Humphries was an above average NFL starter for the time, but he took too many concussions and retired early. Ryan Leaf is the guy you are thinking off. He was stupidly talented and had absolutely everything that Peyton Manning didn't, except a functioning brain.

Chargers have been really fortunate with QB's since the Leaf debacle, but then they probably deserve it because after Fouts called it a day they had to sit through watching a completely washed up and never that great anyway Jim McMahon, Mark Malone, Billy-Joe Tolliver, and John Friesz. Probably no surprise that none of those guys are in the H.O.F.

Leaf to Flutie was pretty grim as well. Craig fucking Welihan, and I've even seen Moses Moreno and Cleo Lemon play QB in regular season action for the Bolts. Casey Weldon once got a start after signing off the street during the week :bag

After Humphries took one too many hits, they started Jim Everett, then as season of Erik Kramer and Jim Harbaugh, every single one of them was completely done by that point. It was a rough watch.
