He would have given us more of an outball and perhaps forced Hibs to play a deeper line. Miovski was really poor all game, in truth, culminating in missing that absolute sitter at 3-1. I thought we lacked a bit of control at 1-0, with Ramadani especially lacking influence. Saying that, Hibs didn’t really threaten until the penalty. I get that we are not going to have two great options for every position, but the thinness of the squad in certain areas was exposed as the game went on. Coulson was probably our best player, but losing him and going to the likes of Mackenzie, who is an honest trier but no more than that, is a very sizeable downgrade. You also have McCrorie going to centre-back when Scales goes off, with Polvara on. It can be overwhelming travelling to the capital from northern backwaters to take on international players such as Ryan Porteous. They kept the score respectable, which is all you can ask for.
