Hibernian v Aberdeen 17/09/22

Hibs the better side from ten minutes in I’d say. Denied a clear penalty before getting a soft one and a red card to boot. Classic Scottish refereeing.

Liked the look of Mykola. Campbell becoming a useful player is a shock to the system.

Didn't think the McCrorie or Scales incidents were pens but the Polvara one was as stonewall as it gets.

🤣🤣🤣.

Behave. Hibs never looked like scoring while we had 11 on the park.

We were still poor all the same.

Suuuuuuure! you were camped in your own half from the 4th minute.

Also wild from Goodwin trying to play out from the back, there’s not a single football player in that Aberdeen back 4. Constantly inviting pressure onto themselves.

Should have kept Duk on rather than Miovski after going down to ten. He would have given us more of an outball and perhaps forced Hibs to play a deeper line. Miovski was really poor all game, in truth, culminating in missing that absolute sitter at 3-1.

I thought we lacked a bit of control at 1-0, with Ramadani especially lacking influence. Saying that, Hibs didn’t really threaten until the penalty.

I get that we are not going to have two great options for every position, but the thinness of the squad in certain areas was exposed as the game went on. Coulson was probably our best player, but losing him and going to the likes of Mackenzie, who is an honest trier but no more than that, is a very sizeable downgrade. You also have McCrorie going to centre-back when Scales goes off, with Polvara on. So again, the red card weakens us in two more positions because of that.

I think people are being a bit harsh on Aberdeen City here. It can be overwhelming travelling to the capital from northern backwaters to take on international players such as Ryan Porteous. They kept the score respectable, which is all you can ask for. Manager James Godwin will be rightly proud of his lads after today and they'll have some great stories to tell their colleagues when they return to their normal jobs on Tuesday.

Wild post. Coulson and Scales are brilliant with the ball at their feet.

7/8-1 would be up there with an all time score in the Scottish Premier League. Nothing about either sides performance today showed anything approaching that.

Do these two clubs only win when the opposition have had players sent off?

Third is going to be another stroll this season for the Hertz after the World Cup break.

Not really our issue other teams getting players sent off tbh.

If it was Hearts you would be giving it the establishment club big licks.

Lose tomorrow and you in Wishaw are behind an awful Hibs side and then you have Rangers next ;)

After the WC we will have McGeady MacGennis and Nisbet back too.  Be at least 7 ahead of Hearts come NY.

You'll be hoping that he can stay fit for longer than Magennis.

They do say that the truth hurts. Pretty accurate comments from Jim Goodwin.

Jim Goodwin spent millions in the summer and is using Ryan Porteous to deflect from his own failings. Quite funny to listen to.
