never mind a licence

just back from cambuslang

atrocious pitch    goals need  painting

base of goals need strimming    death trap of a terracing and entry / exit

how south lanarkshire  can pass that    god only knows

You think South Lanarkshire council have a particular interest in old Junior grounds that might on a good day get a couple of hundred in.

As long as the buildings/dressing rooms/lounge aren't a fire trap i doubt the council really cares.

When was the last time any non league club in South Lanarkshire had a serious crowd inside a local stadium?

Having floodlights already will help a lot, think these are the unlicensed clubs which have them (who knows if they are up to standard):

Whittlets (but they are moving ground?)

Whitletts will be moving, and are currently working to bring the old pavilion at New Voluntary Park up to scratch. The ground already has floodlights in place.

Good luck. emoji106.png Don't underestimate the amount of paperwork, courses and qualifications required. The stadium stuff really is only a fraction of the work, the personnel commitment is considerable. I'm sure you have all that in hand though, the club wouldn't have made the commitment to apply and pay the fee without knowing what they were taking on. I wish you well and hope to see a successful outcome at the AGM next summer.

Thanks ,we have been working on getting the paperwork up to scratch for a while now & we had a lot of it in place already with the quality mark award , the stadium only needs a few things , defibrillator (already organised) ,new signage,a covered area for two wheelchairs & helpers & the most expensive part new goals as we need socketed goals instead of the current ones with wheels ,we will start a gofundme page next week to try help with some of the costs & I know it's going to be a hard slog but we will get there & it will eventually help improve the team on the park too .

Good newss about the wheelchair spaces

As far as I am aware, Beith are nowhere near obtaining an SFA licence, which is a pity, as they are arguably favourites to be crowned WoSL champions. Darvel's consistency has slipped, and Talbot have too many fixtures to fulfill.  As potential champions, Beith are not licensed, so they cannot enter the Lowland promotion play-offs at the end of this season. Top 6 :-

BEITH  21 -48  DARVEL 20 - 41  POLLOK  22 - 38  MEADOW  20 - 32  TALBOT  14 - 30  CLYDEBANK  17 - 30

Disappointing for the WoSL, if it is not represented in the Pyramid play-off,

Talbot still have to play Beith twice.  Win those, and they have 7 games in hand to close a 12 point gap.

Given Beith have never put any statements out to say where they are with their License application then the source of your assumptions are pure here say.

If the leaked latest SFA proposals get passed then the pathway is in turmoil yet again regardless of licenses.

Correct. Any incentive of advancement has been minimised now.

Don't think it's that disappointing if Beith are unlicensed champions - they'll join the rest of the top WOS teams in the Scottish Cup next season and the league still has all the same teams/rivalries; meanwhile Linlithgow will get promoted which improves the LL and they get to play Bo'ness for their derbies.

And tells those in the LL forum that say the Wosfl big guns were never serious about the Lowland league they were correct.

To the contrary, SLLC are engaged with myself in regards to ground improvements at my club and the discussions are largely positive and progress has begun.

In the South Lanarkshire View (online council paper) has reported a £14 million Transformation fund to modernise ageing sports facilities in the area this year.

Talbot are the stronger club, but with so many games still to play, they will need to keep players fit/keen playing +2 games every week.

Any body like to guess what the attendances for the two Beith v Talbot games will attract ?

A hell of a lot less if they are getting played during the week

It just means that the clubs that are serious about it like Pollok, Clydebank, Kilwinning and Darvel haven’t been good enough. If Beith win it then fair play.
