Where are you seeing this? The last advice we got was that all games bar the Scottish Cup were to go ahead.

Got a message via the club my son plays for from the DDYFA that all games will be off and cup games will move to next week.

Edit; Maybe because all the games were Scottish Cup?

I don't think it was staunchness that did it for the North Caley, just letting players and everyone else know early that they had a definite weekend off to plan what they wanted.

I wasn't meaning anything like that. Just that it's like salt-&-sauce v salt-&-vinegar, or why Scottish full-times always used to come in a couple of minutes before England, or why certain parts of non-league football play at 2pm or 2:30pm not 3pm. No obvious reason for it - hardly likely to be political, economic, social or whatever - yet somehow not totally random.

North Caley were much the same when the Covid rules were in doubt, just called it off instead of leaving everyone fannying about not knowing.

I said yeah I heard on the news somewhere.  She then said "When I get older dad I'm going to find a King so I can be the Queen" I said ok princess (ironic but do call her my princess) but it's not worth the hassle, most of P&B will think you're a poisonous parasite c**t" * She then showed me the picture she made me at Scouts and sang some Elton John song she was taught at School. (long long time maybe?).  Then their mum told them christmas is cancelled because the Queens dead like the horrible wind up make the kids upset tosser shes became.

Some of the posts on here about the death of the Queen have been VILE. And they get green dotted. Sad but not unexpected. 

 

No, you are of course entitled to your view but you fail to see things from the other perspective. Feel free to be sad, feel free to support others who are sad, but there's no need to halt the world for the death of a divisive figure who had a thoroughly good innings, way in excess of the life expectancy of her subjects. 

I'm not the sort of person who would deliberately seek to antagonise those who are actually mourning but there absolutely is an imposition here way in excess of the importance of the event.  And which completely disregards the views of those who are at best ambivalent about the passing of a hereditary head of state who despite the oceans of fucking nonsense said and written about her, was as remote and divorced from her subjects as it is possible to be without leaving orbit. 

Objectively the losses of Iain Banks, Scott Hutchison and Dolores O'Riordon were both more tragic and more culturally significant for Scotland than the passing of the magic baton from one anachronism past retirement age and seemingly not quite all there, to another. 

The need for competitive sorrowful genuflecting at her death is clearly designed to reinforce the myth of her "service" and "dedication" to obscure any debate and suppress any dissent about whether in 2022 having a dynastic hereditary head of state with actual constitutional responsibilities is in fact fucking mental. 

There's absolutely nothing VILE FRANKLY about pointing out and deriding what a complete nonsense all of this is.
