The Official Liz Truss no longer PM but still a Clusterfuck thread

You're all being very unfair. They've said they want to reform union laws to improve growth. Obviously this means that they'll give Unions a seat on the board and mandate arbitration like they do in high-productivity, low-deficit Germany right?

They totally won't prosecute rabble rousers under spurious pretences and send in SPGs to beat the shit out of pickets.

Exactly!

It means we're still borrowing an extra £43 billion per annum to fund tax cuts we can't afford. It isn't Conservatism, it's sabotaging the economy to profit short sellers of UK plc. Thatcher would be appalled.

Well done @Clown Job

He should change it every couple of days.

”Holy f**k”

”It can’t get any worse”

”Ignore that last thread title”

It could be fun (no that’s not a thread title suggestion).

I'm expecting a rousing chorus of "You don't know what you're doing" when Kwasi or Liz makes a speech to the party conference.

Fucking incompetents.

ETA: Still a need for the word clusterfuck in the thread title imo. @Clown Job

Possibly an omnishambles as well.

I see it’s been changed now but ‘The Trussterfuck Thread’ would be a kinda snappy title.

I think this is the end game for them with workers rights

At will employment

In United States labor law, at-will employment is an employer's ability to dismiss an employee for any reason (that is, without having to establish "just cause" for termination), and without warning,[1] as long as the reason is not illegal (e.g. firing because of the employee's race, religion or sexuality). When an employee is acknowledged as being hired "at will", courts deny the employee any claim for loss resulting from the dismissal. The rule is justified by its proponents on the basis that an employee may be similarly entitled to leave their job without reason or warning.[2] The practice is seen as unjust by those who view the employment relationship as characterized by inequality of bargaining power.

They want to make people work more for less money and less rights, such as holidays, maternity leave and sick leave. They also want to tie employment to health insurance.

We desperately need away from these c***s.

No way is Dorries for real, she has to be a secret agent for the opposition. Amazing stuff. At the party conference, where the last poll had a 30pt lead for Labour. Brilliant.

The best not about that is the suggestion that Boris Johnson stood for something (other than a toast)

There surely aren't calls to bring in Michael Gove, the same creature that was sacked for being too much of a snake by Boris fucking Johnson, as PM?

Seems like the Tories won't stop their parade of bullshit until the bonfires get too close to the gates of their estates.

Was Dorries not one of the first to throw her weight behind Truss during the leadership contest? A prominent Tory MP calling for a general election when Truss has only been PM for a couple of weeks is quite something.

It is genuinely terrifying how people like Truss and Dorries have been given such responsibility in this government. Truss can hardly get through an interview without making herself look like a complete simpleton, and Dorries seems to be a genuinely nasty woman who should be nowhere near a position of power. If she ever does get a seat in the House of Lords it will be the most blatant example of corruption from the Tories since the last blatant example of corruption a few weeks ago.

If you give money to poorer people they will spend almost all of it (living / surviving), and that money will continue circulating in the economy.

This is exactly what the Conservatives, nearly worldwide, ignore. In study after study Welfare/Assistance/Support/Aide/Whatever you call it payments to the poorest are effectively economically multiplied three times as they are spent and re-spent. That’s the most bang for the buck you can get from payments from the Government to the people. Want to stimulate the economy, give the poorest in your society some unrestricted cash. They will spend it on products, 90%+ in their community, and FAST. You’ll see fixes made by businesses and handymen, food and clothing purchased, etc, all the things that a stimulus is about…and it will trickle UP to the banks and owners too, the b*****ds.

"You didn't want the social care levy, so what do you expect us to do"

For anyone that wants to see the way privatisation will end for health care look at it in operation in the prison service.
