Clyde vs Dunfermline - Rearranged for Tue 18th Oct

Recommended Posts

According to the ever-reliable Soccerbase, this is our first away game against Clyde since 2009.

Of course that game was at Broadwood and Saturday will be at the far more familiar New Douglas Park in Hamilton.

Strong start to the season from us, with an excellent defensive record. Clyde are on a poor run of three consecutive defeats but we can't afford to overlook them or glance ahead to Falkirk the following weekend.

I do remember the away game to Clyde in the Scottish cup when it got abandoned because of the snow at half time with us 2-0 up.

Think it was the year we got to the final in 2004.

It was 2-1 at the time but aye it was 2004.

Not a kick in the arse off 4,000 at that game. Would be nice on Saturday.

Only thing I can remember from a Clyde away game is a ball boy, or possibly girl, coming on to the pitch to grab a ball played down the wing whilst it was still in play. Decent tactic. Would like to see our ballchildren stop any dangerous looking crosses etc.

1 win in our last 22 games against Dunfermline and that was entirely Div McGowan Sol Bamba inspired.

The only positive is that the match isn't at EEP, where we haven't won since 1974. That's despite being ahead in 6 of our last 7 visits, on a couple of occasions by two goals!

I'd not actually be surprised if we win this one; we're clearly capable of winning any given match this season. We'll need to get the first goal to do so, whilst ditching the back three nonsense.

The 4-4 at EEP was an absolute belter of a game.

Genuine question.

Given that Clyde are originally from Glasgow, but played the past couple of decades in Cumbernauld, where do most of the fanbase come from now?

Think it’s mostly still the Glasgow area followed by Cumbernauld & EK and after that we are randomly spread across the west.
