Agree would be good to get all into round 2 ( and beyond ) to show up the dolts  ( spooky, spellcheck came up with Colts )calling us a tinpot league.  Yes ,not perfect but lots to commend and in my opinion the best value for money in Scottish football. Game at Spartans yesterday was a great watch.

Something bothering me, why don’t they just rename the preliminary round as the first round, and renumber the rest to include a 6th round before the quarters, like they do in England?

Seems sensible to me….

The FA Cup has six preliminary rounds, so their QF (round 6) is actually the 12th round.

In the FA Cup they start the First Round proper once the first EFL sides enter. Guessing that distinction dates back to before they had a proper pyramid.

The Preliminary in the Scottish makes sense to me at the moment as byes are given. If they go back to the two Prelims with membership expansion it won't make as much sense. A distinction at the point might that the First Round sees the first clubs enter from the Professional Game Board leagues.

Probably be at least a couple more rounds added in Scotland as non league football gets organised over the next decade.

Going to be quite a while to have more than two preliminaries if they keep the current First Round onwards format.

26 teams enter the First Round from Tier 6 or higher. 2nd Prelim could hold 52 and the 1st Prelim could hold 104. Needs 50+ teams to get licenced and max qualifiers to fill those spots.

Would be thinking East/West and South could find 50 extra clubs that would be looking to gain a SFA licence and go into the big Scottish.

I'd be hoping half the Wosfl would be interested to start with this decade.

Looking at & achieving are two different things. 50's a massive number even including those in the Highland area. Especially as over time there have been changes to licencing standards. Which is why people openly speculate on the introduction of seating. Much like floodlights, before licencing was introduced a seated stand was a requirement.

Going by what I've seen around the West Region more than a few clubs have installed a degree of seats that were nonexistent in the old Junior days a few seasons ago.

Obviously a club like Talbot who took the old stand extension at Hamilton Accies brick by brick to Ayrshire.

Further down the Leagues the two small built seated stands at Blantyre Vics that look as though the hold about a 100 between then.

Depends what the basics for a SFA licence are.

100/200 seats under cover in the future.

Not exactly impossible for an ambitious club.

Have Dundonald got a French tie-in now a la Edusport?
