Deila was probably the most important manager during the 9iar,he developed the squad while winning 3 trophies in two season plus gave Rodgers a platform to move forward.

Lost to a lower league team and celtic fans couldn't handle it.

I'm sure slippy G is held in the same regard with only winning one trophy in three seasons zippy.

Built up a team of misfits in to a side capable of going toe to toe with some top European teams.

And finished off the infamous Terry Munro.

Aye, Berget and Scepovic were the key to the Treble Treble alright.

Bar Christie, eventually, and Armstrong, did he make a decent signing?

Gordon was quite decent imo, as was Ajer.

Ajer and Johansen were good signings too. Tbh there were others but I think he had very little control over that stuff given he was initially interviewed for the assistants position and had his backroom staff dictated by the club.

Maybe you didn't read my post Tierney and McGregor ended up pretty important plus he signing Dembele before he left.

What credit can you give Deila for McGregor and Tierney really, they were clearly going to be outstanding players no matter what?

You're trying to make it sound like Celtic were on a downward spiral that Deila arrested, when in actuality he was pretty useless and managed a title race with a no bad Aberdeen team

Izzy was first choice and McGregor was on loan Deila put both into the first team.

He done the job he was paid to do and kept us at the top. 3 trophies from 6 is a decent return for any Celtic manager.

As for Tierney it was Deila who decided to bring him through way ahead of time. The chances are Tierney could have been another great prospect who we lost like many others as we do have form for loosing young players.

As for players we brought in Gordon, Ajer, Boyata, Denayer, Roberts, Simunovic, Sviatchenko, Christie, Armstrong were all ones who did pretty well.

Again, they were both clearly outstanding talents.   I suppose you could potentially have lost them but seems very unlikely that they wouldn't have come through no matter what

3 trophies from 6 in that era was farcically bad.  Hearts, Hibs and Rangers were championship clubs ffs.

I'm all for you bringing him back for another go though
