Resilience - so far under Robinson we haven't come from behind to win or draw. It's what good teams do - they get a "result" in adverse circumstances, not always admittedly but we've not managed it once under Robinson's tenure.

To pick up on this, it was a weird quirk of Robinson's last season with us that by the point he resigned (December 31st 2020) we'd not only failed to come from behind but we'd failed to even score an equalising goal - that was after 23 games (we'd won 5 drawn 6 lost 12).

So there's definitely a familiarity about the chat around Robbo's version of Saints at the moment.

We also started the season with stats like these (we lost all 3 games 1-0):

If we are going to prosper in the division and stay out of trouble our home form needs to drastically improve. It's been honking under Robbo, just as it was honking under Goody. The numbers make for really terrible reading.

We've won just 1 of 7 league games at home under Robinson, which was that 2-0 defeat of Dundee back in May.

Adding that record to Goody's and you get a total of just 4 league wins in the last 22 attempts at home.

Awful.

Losing at home tomorrow doesn't bear thinking about. We absolutely have to win our home games against likes of County, St.Johnstone, Livingston, Motherwell and Kilmarnock and hope we get some scraps off the bigger boys, otherwise the game is a bogey.

Play as we did against Motherwell there's no reason why we can't win this. That still irks, no way we should have lost that game!

It was also honking under McPherson, Lennon, Craig, Teale, Murray and Rae.

In fact the only season Saints have won more home games than lost at SMP was Ross's league winning season.

HT 0-0
Not much in it but think we’ve edged it, been quite scrappy mostly.
Ayunga cracking the inside of the post with a smashing 20 yard effort the only real chance of note. Baccus should have done better when he broke through as well, skied high and wide. County came back into it towards the end of the half and Carson shanked another of his kicks straight up in to the air, got away with it thankfully.
Probably going to be a draw, both teams look fairly toothless so far.

We've been the better side but not created much in the way of clear cut chances. Baccus did well to create some space for himself with his chance and a great strike by Ayunga off the post.

1 goal could win this, which is what's making me nervous.

Both Ayunga and Main have been alright and made a nuisance of themselves.

FT 1-0
Yeehaa, what relief. Wasn’t much in the game but think we just about deserved it. lovely goal from Tait to win it, sat up perfect and he curled a delightful right foot shot from 20 yards into the top corner. Tait has been getting a bit of stick lately but I think he was our best player today, would have had good odds on him first goal scorer.
We were hanging on a bit after that, County had a diving header off the post that looked easier to score and Carson made a good save from a deflected effort towards the end. We saw it out though and it’s a huge three points and the crisis baton goes to County.
Onwards to Tannadice, be great to get a result up there and build a bit of momentum.

Saints comfortable winners.

Yes County hit the post but after their performances against Hearts and Celtic I had the fear for this.

Totally misplaced thankfully.

Side note: some fairly major ‘gamesmanship’ from RC and how their No 7 escaped a booking I’ve no idea.

Thought we dominated that game. Very good performances from Strain, Baccus, Kiltie and Ayunga. Kiltie worked his socks off and maybe went under the radar but he was instrumential in dominating the midfield. Pleased for Robinson.

Thought we were pretty comfortable seeing that out, mostly because County kept playing through balls straight out of the park.

Ayunga and Tait in particular were excellent and O’Hara did a brilliant job when he came on, didn’t give them a moment’s peace. We ran the clock down well too and made good decisions late in the game which should hopefully be a confidence booster.

County were very cynical and Iacovitti is a roaster.

Was it the 7 who went through Strain, elbow first, in our box? Stick-on booking for that alone.
