A lot of songs sung at football matches aren't relevant, not only Celtic and Rangers fans who indulge in this. Volunteers fighting for Irish freedom in the early years of the 20th century singing 'rebel songs' is clearly neither secterian nor offensive. Football supporters singing same songs in a Scottish football ground as we approach the middle of the 21st century is. People have the right to be offended and uncomfortable with any supposed support of the IRA taking place infront of them . Do something progressive and constructive to get your supporters to stop this hatred. Could you imagine if you were singing about hating and killing Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Scientologists, etc, as well as Blacks, Pakistanis, etc and the LGBTQ+ community. What is the reason why the media and the football authorities in this country don’t expose both sets of bigots and the two clubs who continue to thrive on this hatred. A Union flag fluttering in a country parish church in Kent in December being a totally different proposition from a Union flag fluttering from a tenement window in Bridgeton Cross in July is another example.
