Raith Rovers vs Dundee FC - 6/8/2022

Defensively O'Riordan looks decent. As a defensive unit we look shocking. They look like they met yesterday and to a degree, they did.

If the strategy is to protect the defence I'm not sure it matters as we look likely to concede with every attack. Better to try and give Gullan some kind of support...

I feared it would be much worse when the goal went in, but we've done fairly well since then. As has been the case pretty much since the Dunbar game, though, we don't have enough presence up front and we look very brittle at the back.

Scoring a goal is a total numbers game for us. We need to create six, seven, eight opportunities just to get a half decent chance at one. Dundee, on the other hand, look like they might score out of nowhere at pretty much all times.

That fragility at the back should fade as the defence settles in and the young guys get minutes into them, but until then, and until we find another forward or an innovative way to use Jamie Gullan, we're going to continue to lose games that are tight.

We’ve come into it more since the goal.  Which wouldn’t be hard given we barely got over the half way line before the goal.

O’riordan looks decent and full of confidence.  Pity we don’t have a Berra alongside.

Not sure what the game plan was early on but hitting high balls to Connolly and Ngwenya was never going to work.

Move Nywenga back to LB, Dick over for Nolan (who seem uncomfortable by reports), and load Connoll up top with Gullen?
