Haven’t seen much of the 7’s series this year as the youtube coverage is shite.  Commentators have been bigging us up saying how goid we’ve been but both times we’ve come up against a decent side here we’ve had our arses handed to us.

TBF, we have been much improved this season.

Against teams like Fiji and SA, you need to be perfect though, they just absolutely kill you for any error, and we've made far too many in both games

That 100m backstroke final was bonkers. Commentators did say it would be hard to call. There was 0.8 of a second between the whole field.

The swimming finals have been great.  Duncan Scott is a true world class star (pity he missed the worlds with Covid) and just love the passion shown by Ross Murdoch - seeing him singing Fllower of Scotland (for Scott's gold) whilst still in his dookers in the crowd was brilliant.

Amazed that some of the Australian swimmers have prioritised the Commonwealth games over the worlds.......just shows the quality of swimming in these games.

Horrendous crash in the Velodrome that wiped out most of the riders in the scratch race. England’s Matt Walls went flying into the crowd and is apparently still receiving treatment behind a screen. Spectators also injured. Another rider was taken away on a stretcher and others walking wounded.

Hope all are OK.

Kiwis shoot themselves in the foot against Fiji.   Should have kicked it out to bring the first half to a close 14-0 up.   Went for bust and let Fiji back into the game.  2 yellows in the second half allow Fiji to level up then  win it with a golden score while the Kiwis are still down to 5.

Think that's the worst crash I've ever seen on the track, the Canadian rider surfed right along the top of the barrier too and somehow managed to land back on the track. Walls was left with nowhere to go as the Aussie and Kiwi riders who had crashed and were sliding up the banking.

Session was abandoned, latest is that Walls and IOM rider Matt Bostock were taken to hospital fir precautionary tests. One blood covered spectator was taken out in a wheelchair.
