St Mirren v Motherwell 31/07/2022

HT 0-1
Yep same old shite so from us far, poor game between two poor sides.
We probably edged it before the goal, Ayunga and Greive both had chances they should have scored but didn’t. A header saved by Kelly was a right sitter.
The penalty was one and well dispatched by Van Veen and after that we haven’t done much.
Need a big improvement second half or it will be yet another loss.

Agree two poor teams but on another day St Mirren would have been out of sight.

We can't defend, there's no way you won't get at least one.

Glorious seethe from the paisley faithful on the stream.

1-0 to Motherwell at halftime, but the Paisley faithful are streets ahead in the predicted boo-athon. Some tremendous stuff coming over on the stream right from the first whistle. Chapeau.

Aye, not sure what they're raging at. Obvs we've got the benefit of replays but it was a 100% stonewall penalty.

Thought we took a while to get into the game but then were the better side, kind of from the point McGinn went off.

Failing to score from several good chances then chucking a penalty away is St Mirreny as f**k though.

We've not taken anything from a game when we've went behind during Robinson's tenure, another loss would bode poorly for the rest of the season.

A game where both teams are pretty poor with one slightly edging it. But tbh I feel that neither of the teams will be scoring outside of a penalty or free kick.

I certainly hope we keep a clean sheet but we have only had 2 over the past 25 games this year. And this with Kelly in goal.

This game is certainly not over.

Didn't look anything like a penalty from where we're sitting.

It really was, sadly. Arm out at 90 degrees from his waist as he turned to shite out of getting hit flush by the ball. Hit his arm. Absolutely no question.

I was right behind the shot.  Looked like he had his hand in front of his body and if it had not hit his hand it’d have hit his body.

When you see a replay you’ll realise you’re wrong, his arm starts inside his body but he turns to the side as the shot comes in but doesn’t move his arms with him.

The penalty's a weird one, as he does move his hands in the direction of where the ball is being struck, but that direction was point-blank towards the defender. Looked like a 50/50 chance purely dependent on where the referee happened to be standing at the time.
