36 years, how much longer?

St Mirren are trying a ton of pro-active things. ‘Help a Buddie’ scheme, early bird ST discounts, an entire programne of community projects, the Panda Club, deals in the family stand, not turning the family stand over to the ugly sisters, kids programmes in the airdome…. All of it admirable, but none of it altering the fact that a large swathe of the local population follow the two huge kunts operating out of Glasgow. On our doorstep. How to you propose we change that?

It is admirable, how much of that has been reinvested in the squad?

Livingston absolutely used the pitch to their advantage first game of the season. There should be incentives from the governing bodies for clubs to have grass pitches.

Allocations - If they cut our allocation and fill the place with their fans that is absolutely fine by me and of course they should. But the majority of the time they seats we would take lie empty. You can’t complain about lack of money when you’ve knowingly left seats empty.

Fans definetely don’t turn out for every game. Look at the crowd in the Dundee United v AZ game, would you get they numbers v Motherwell? Why not?

Glad you agree that Falkirk made a stupid decision.

I want clubs to be competitive and provide an interesting league. Instead it’s blame the OF.

Ok, so you're at it. Got it.

Rangers barren times? We literally just spent years in the lower leagues. Celtic have twice one nine in a row. They won four trebles or whatever it was. That’s obviously barren years for Rangers.

You won all three leagues in that time! There's fans of teams you were playing against that haven't even seen them win one!

Of course it’s true. Why would I want Scottish football to be rubbish when I watch it every week?

Lots of OF fans play at this game. Then you suggest to them practical steps to make the league more competitive and they find every excuse under the sun to get away from it. Maybe you’re different, who knows?

The wage difference between the OF and the rest and the different fan base sizes are a convenient excuse for failure by everyone else.

The inconvenient truth is that no other team challenges the OF because those plying their trade at other clubs up here are simply not professional enough and they don't work anywhere near hard enough.

An endless stream of players who move from Scotland to England have told stories of their shock at how much harder they had to work at their clubs down south.

Our clubs can't even be professional enough to be ready to play teams from the Ireland at the end of July. There's the problem in a nutshell.

There's also a cultural "we canny win" attitude up here.

That's why it's been 36 years and counting since anyone else has won the title.

So it's a lack of professionalism, a lack of genuine effort and a losers mentality. Fix that and we'd see the OF being challenged in no time. There's really no excuse for this state of affairs.

Probably the worst take I've ever seen on this website

Yep, I've often thought that the reason Celtic suffered their highest ever home and away defeats in Europe under Brendan Rogers was that they weren't as professional and didn't work hard as PSG

This is a stinker of a post, I’m afraid.

I mean, some of these things may exist at certain clubs but to suggest a bit of professionalism and a ‘can do’ attitude would see the gap bridged is frankly silly.
