The Ukraine spent most of the game sitting in and playing for whatever they could get.

Not for the first time, if a team presses our defenders high up we suddenly lose contact with our midfield and attacking options drop through the floor. It's not the coach, it's the team.

If a 'team' fault isn't the responsibility of the coach, then what is?

A disgraceful - but not surprising - 45 minutes from Clarke’s Scotland.
The positives are we walk out of that half only one behind, and there’s still 45 to play, so all is not lost.
The negatives are we are being comprehensively bodied by a hopeless Ireland team, for the second time in three months. Why though?
We’ve been poor one to eleven but special mentions to the hopeless McGregor and Christie. I didn’t know they were playing either. Dykes? Nope, he’s not good enough to start for QPR this weather so who knows why he’s starting for us.
Maybe there will be a huge turnaround in second half..?
Unless we avoid defeat here we will need a win in Poland. Ireland will beat Armenia on the final day and when they do they will finish above us on the H2H on 10 points if we draw with Ukraine.

What do they have in common?

Shocking first half performance. Hickey is trying, nobody else is.

How the Irish still have 11 on the pitch is beyond me. Doherty with four or five nasty wee ones that went unpunished.
