Armadale Thistle 5-1 Bathgate Thistle

It was a crackling encounter last night, with the scoreline a travesty to Bathgate's effort in opening 60mins. Both sides openers were nice curled strikes. Armadale's quality ultimately told.

Surroundings far transformed since I saw this fixture on New Year's Day: no more heavy surface while bright lights pierced the gloom. Looks like banked end and half far side now 'out-of-bounds' to spectators?

Big crowd in and a good atmosphere. Inverkeithing having tried it on the September international weekend, Linlithgow next week and a clutch of clubs at New Year hopefully more decide to give 'Friday night fitba' an occasional whirl.

Meanwhile today 😲:

Fauldhouse 3-2 West Calder on Saturday 12th November has been awarded 0-1 after host fielded an ineligible trialist.

Fauldhouse United 0-1 West Calder United - All matches - East of Scotland Football Association & League (eosfl.com)

No table movement results - but it boosts West Calder to within 1pt of Edinburgh College + 2pts of Livingston Utd in chasers promotion hunt, while Fauldhouse fall to within 6pts of Harthill in wooden spoon tussle.

We did the same last season. How can we make the same mistake again?

Phase 2 will start soon, community dressing rooms will be installed on east terracing and remainder of east terracing and north terracing upgraded, hopefully an SFA licence will be obtained.

On paper today marks halfway in the league campaign... but after recent weather everybody is actually 1 game shy, or 2 in case of Fauldhouse and Stoneyburn.

Bo'ness Athletic hold a formidable lead, century of goals, and look strong for promotion - though still having to play Armadale thrice leaves the title question open. Livingston Utd, Edinburgh College or West Calder will need sustained good form to catch up on 'Dale.

Looks like Fauldhouse and debutants Harthill are contesting wooden spoon.

Dale need to win those games 9-0, 9-0 and 8-0, all other things being equal.
