The reason the Tories have had two female PMs and multiple people of colour in senior cabinet positions is because they don’t bother with diversity quotas. Everyone who rises to a senior position in the Conservative party has done so on merit and not as a result of tokenism.

 

The party will happily elect a person of colour if one proves to be the best person for the job and this might well be the time. 

Please go back and read my post.  You will hopefully see me make the distinction between the Tory hierarchy and the membership, and having known quite a few of the latter over decades I stand by my claim.
