Think they have to be nominated by at least 8 MPs then they need to get above 32 or something to avoid elimination in the first round, or if they all do then the lowest gets knocked out. Then it's just lowest out in each subsequent round. There was am explainer on the BBC website. Mind you that might all change if the 1922 committee decide to change their own rules?

The 32 figure means that at least half of the candidates will be out after the first round.

Some of them will be lucky to get in to double digits.
