I'm very surprised Gove ruled himself out as he was after the job for years.

Does he have no clout within the party?

He's probably looking a few years down the road after the current shitshow has cleared up.

I think you’re reading too much into it mate.

They’ll be giving all the candidates a fair crack if the whip.

When Patel, Truss and Mordor declare there will be a total of 11 candidates.

Unless some choose to drop out this has the potential to be a lengthy contest.

Not necessarily, they can decide that each candidate must poll x number of votes to move to the next round, not just eliminate the lowest each time.

But I'm sure if they went down that route they could hold 4/5 votes every day?

Think they have to be nominated by at least 8 MPs then they need to get above 32 or something to avoid elimination in the first round, or if they all do then the lowest gets knocked out. Then it's just lowest out in each subsequent round. There was am explainer on the BBC website. Mind you that might all change if the 1922 committee decide to change their own rules?

I’m pretty sure that is how they do it.

Up until the final two candidates the voters comprise the whole of the the conservative membership not just MPs.  So having a vote more often than every few days is not possible.

Two candidates are shagging a special adviser or one candidate is shagging two special advisers?  It’s important that we know.

I know that some Tories think the successful candidate should carry on with BoJo's policies but even for the gammonati isn't that a bit much? 😂

I thought it was the other way round, silly me.
