I get your point but I was buzzing about Connolly at the time. Knew he was a good player and him not featuring for Alloa more was always more to do with Grant being a bumbling idiot rather than Connolly's ability.

Yeah I can’t say I knew too much about him apart from when he played against Queens. Also we are after Broadfoot along with Dunfermline according to Daily Record

Think Broadfoot did pre-season with Queens last year but eventually opted for the bigger bucks in the Highlands.  So that would likely indicate he'd choose the Pars over Queens this year.  The only thing in our favour would be that he might be reluctant to miss out on the opportunity to play regularly on our wonderful state-of-the-art-best-in-class carpet at Palmy ... and yes, I am prone to writing any old pish.

He apparently spent a bit of his youth career with us. Ah well, hopefully he values nostalgia over a pay day because we certainly won’t get near Dunfermline’s wage. This is what I was meaning about the TF, I’d have rather it went to matching offers for players such as Broadfoot as I believe he’d be a key player for us in a league 1. Probably not that popular an opinion though!

Yeah think that’s bollocks if I’m being honest. Hopefully we are after Senna though!

WG has said he will sign  more  quality in the squad  right now I will just have  to trust him .
The loss of East Cooper and more so Connelly and Fizpartrick was always going to be hard to replace.
Hopefully many more real quality signing still to come.

Who has said we have lost Cooper and East [emoji1745]

Did Fitzpatrick sign a 2 year deal with yous?

Nope, now a free agent as of end of May 2022.

Edit - ooops, this has already been answered!

Why? They've been offered new deals but there's no reason why they would have to sign them before their current contracts run out.

You got a link where it tells us they’ve been offered new deals? I can’t find one

You'd imagine if they weren't offered deals then Gibson would have told us this when he announced the other ones who hadn't been offered deals.

I'm assuming the last sentence means deals were offered to those not named individually.

There's always the chance that a Jordan Marshall type situation may arise where the players concerned leave, don't get what they are after elsewhere and return with their tails between their legs to accept the initial offer.

The fact we that we now have three "specialist" centre backs makes me think that East has definitely gone, and I reckon Connelly would have little difficulty getting a gig in the Championship, but I'm hopeful that Wullie can sweet talk Fitzpatrick into staying.

Cheers I must have missed that bit. I thought we were all just assuming they were offered deals but with everyone leaving named except them and that last sentence in the link then it’s likely they were.

Sure Wullie said the players had been given a deadline. I’d just have presumed the deadline would have passed by now.

Might be just me, but in the last few games I got the impression that Connelly had kinda chucked it as far as his time with QOS was concerned (OK I know he got played out of position too).  Hope I'm wrong though cos there is a decent player there.

Senna! ... is he Brazilian by any chance (and decent behind the wheel of a Fiat 500)?

All clubs are due compensation for players under the age of 23 who are offered a new contract before the end of their current deal. Therefore players cannot sign a deal with another club unless compensation is agreed. East, Connelly, Fitzpatrick  and Rae would come into that bracket. That's possibly why we have not heard of any of them signing for another club yet.

I've noticed @19QOS19 saying something similar a few times, can't say I totally agree though. Maybe coming back from injury he wasn't putting as much into it but I don't think he actually hid during games, he still looked like he was at least trying to do something positive. I'd imagine trying to set up Innes Cameron with scoring chances to squander would demoralise most players though.
